Content translator tool and enwiki

[edit]

Hello Runab (also @Whatamidoing (WMF):), we've got quite a bit of a thread going on at Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#Content_translator_tool_creating_nonsense_pages - with large support for restricting this tool on enwiki, at least for now - some WMF feedback of these concerns would be very welcome at this point. — xaosflux Talk 17:53, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The thread is very long and tangled, please provide any WMF response to the community concerns here: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#WMF_Response. — xaosflux Talk 19:59, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I responded on the thread a few minutes back. Due to an error while changing a backend configuration the machine translation system was enabled for English. Sorry about this. Thanks.--Runa Bhattacharjee (WMF) (talk) 03:49, 28 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Blog post link

[edit]

Congrats on the Google Translate collab! Your blog post links "its talk page" to mw:Talk:Content translation/Machine Translation/GT but I would think you want discuss at mw:Talk:Content translation/Machine Translation/Google Translate, (the non-acronym). Wanted to leave a note just in case. (not watching, please {{ping}}) czar 01:58, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The title "Talk:Content translation/Machine Translation/Google Translate" has been banned from creation. It matches the following blacklist entry: " .*g+(o+)g+le?\S?.*"

Also looks like we're unable to post there :) czar 02:02, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh no! Can you use our main talk page for the Content Translation project instead please? I will get the url updated. Thanks for pointing this out.--122.166.159.233 (talk) 13:50, 11 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Backlogs at New Page Patrol

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for you comment at Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/New landing page proposal/Article workflow. I nearly missed it because it was chronologically our of sequence. Please read the thread to the end and if you feel there is scope for the WMF to help us develop the simple solution to what is now a crisis, please don't hesitate to let me know and I'll link you to the project. That said, it is probably not something that would be of immediate interest to other language Wikipedias as they do not use the same Page Curation system and are not faced with the same challenges as the en.Wiki.
