Jimmy Emmanuel Mwanga (born 1 February 1999) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a forward. He has played in several countries including China, Cyprus, the United States, and Austria, representing clubs such as Qingdao Red Lions in China and SK Vorwärts Steyr in Austria.[1] Mwanga previously played college soccer at Lewis University in the United States.[2]
Early life
[edit]Mwanga grew up in Dublin, Ireland, after being born in Johannesburg. His journey has included trials, college soccer, and professional contracts across multiple countries.[1]
Youth and college career

[edit]Mwanga played for the Lewis Flyers (Lewis University) from 2019 to 2021. He made 53 appearances and contributed to the team's success in NCAA Division II.[2]
Club career

[edit]He was registered with Yenicami AK (Northern Cyprus), per the Turkish Cypriot Football Association.[3]
China: Qingdao Red Lions
[edit]In July 2024, Mwanga signed with Qingdao Red Lions of China.[2]
Austria: SK Vorwärts Steyr
[edit]In February 2025, he joined the Austrian club SK BMD Vorwärts Steyr.[4] He is listed on the club’s website with his height (190 cm) and other biographical data.[5] His journey and reflections are also featured in the club magazine, Volksroad (Spring 2025).[6]
