Reusing references on pages
[edit]Hello, and thank you for your contributions to the page 2025 Democratic National Committee chairmanship election! However, I noticed in your edits that you keep adding the same citations over and over for each endorsement. Did you know you can reuse the citation the first time you add it by naming it in the <ref> tag? See below for an example:
The first use of the citation would be at the end of this sentence.<ref name="HelloWorld">{{cite news |last1=Mettler |first1=Katie |last2=Hilton |first2=Jasmine |title=Alsobrooks’s Senate win fuels new contest over her Prince George’s seat |url=https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2024/11/08/maryland-elections-prince-georges-county-alsobrooks/ |access-date=November 22, 2024 |work=The Washington Post |date=November 8, 2024}}</ref>
The citation is used again for this sentence!<ref name="HelloWorld" />

Disambiguation link notification for October 21
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2025 New York City mayoral election, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ABC News. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Change Cuomo color
[edit]Hello. I am planning on editing the map on election day, and I am planning on using the color Cyan (a bit darkened, however) to represent Cuomo. To improve uniformity, should we make it cyan? I am thinking #00dddd Jayson (talk) 22:19, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Of course I am talking about the chart that you fixed. It will still be visible, but not so bright and contrasting on the eyes. Many people have sensitivity to color, so a bit darkened will be better. Jayson (talk) 22:20, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Jayson, thanks for reaching out. We will absolutely need some uniformity on the colors, so I think it may be a good idea to discuss on the talk page of 2025 NYC mayoral election. I looked at #00dddd and I think it is too similar to Mamdani's hex code, #0000cc. You say you prefer less constrast, but I prefer more contrast so that it is clear who votes for whom. For example, if you go to 2020 Texas Democratic presidential primary, the map showing the results of the primary has blue and green, which at lighter shades can become difficult to distinguish. When you make your map, you may end up having different shades of cyan and blue, which can end up looking similar. That's why I would choose a color that is on the other side of the color wheel for Cuomo, green, such as #33ff33. This color is also opposite of Sliwa's hex, #e81b23. I would have these colors: Mamdani #3333ff, Sliwa #ff3333, and Cuomo #33ff33. These colors can then be lightened if you think they are too bright, but I don't think they are. - Yes, but I was referring to people sensitive to bright and flashing colors, often neurodivergent like myself. Of course, the colors I just chose on the main page might be too similar to colorblind people, but I am just trying to see what is most effective. Thank you! We return to discussing the color
[edit]Hello. I did not have access to update the endorsements map you made, so I made my own. It is just a replacement for now, until you update it. Then you can put it back, even with the color you chose. Reminder: 41st district endorsed Cuomo Jayson (talk) 02:00, 3 November 2025 (UTC)
