Garry Tan

[edit]

Hi PacificDepths, I posted an edit request at Talk:Garry Tan a couple weeks ago, and have not had any replies yet, even after asking on a couple of wikiprojects. Because I have a financial COI here, I shouldn't be the one to make the change. You happen to be one of the top contributors, although I realize it's been a couple of years since you last did so. It's a pretty straightforward request. Would you be willing to give it a consideration? Thanks, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 15:15, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Christina Corpus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page KQED. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:59, 29 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

New page reviewer granted

[edit]

Hi PacificDepths, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! signed, Rosguill talk 17:54, 4 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Guy, and content attribution

[edit]

Hi. I started the above page as a redirect to a band he was largely involved in. And that is it. Anything created when the redirect was removed is not down to me, as I have not added a thing. The main "perpetrator" of the unsourced material is TonalArchivist (talk), so perhaps you might address this matter on his page and not mine? I wish page start critics would research the history of the content addition before they assign something to an editor who can never "own the article" anyway. I will shortly be removing your post from my talk page. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 13:40, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. I sent the message through the Page Curation tool, and I didn't check. I'll post on the other user's talk page. — 🌊PacificDepths (talk) 20:50, 6 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Upcoming expiry of your patroller right

Hi, this is an automated reminder as part of Global reminder bot to let you know that your permission "patroller" (New page reviewers) will expire on 00:00, 4 October 2025 (UTC). For most rights, you will need to renew at WP:PERM, unless you have been told otherwise when your right was approved. To opt out of user right expiry notifications, add yourself to m:Global reminder bot/Exclusion. Leaderbot (talk) 19:42, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

LongeviQuest AfD

[edit]

Hey,

I am truly heartbroken that you were so insistant on getting the article deleted only a year into its creation. I had a long-term vision to make it a great article. I have created over 100 articles, and this is the first time any of them has been deleted. Random obscure organizations don't get cited in multiple major news outlets, so I felt it met the minimum standard for the time being. Even if you disagree with that, why was there such a need to get it deleted? What was the benefit on your part? I get that some editors enjoy taking part in nomination after nomination, but please remember that there are real people behind these Wikipedia accounts who put time and effort into these articles. It is sad and discouraging, but I guess you see it as just another "win" in the AfD battle. This kind of ruined my day. OscarL 14:56, 8 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
