WP needs editors like you
[edit]My friend, I saw your note at the top of the page. I, and I'm sure many others, hope you continue your important work on WP. We need fine editors like you. Best regards, Carlstak (talk) 14:46, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- I agree! I've been meaning to post something about this myself! We need you!--Ermenrich (talk) 17:18, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- My sincerest gratitude Carlstak and Ermenrich. It means a lot when others recognize your efforts. It's just getting frustrating dealing with people and their agendas across the board. Perhaps I just need a long break from Wikipedia. Both of you are doing and have done amazing work on this project, so keep it up. At least if I remain away, I know that high-caliber folks like you are still fighting the good fight. Danke viel mals to both of you. --Obenritter (talk) 17:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
- I am glad to hear your break is not a permanent one. I echo the words put forth by the two editors above, and hope your time away is not too long in nature. With that said, I certainly understand the weariness and frustration you have mentioned, as I feel the same way at times when dealing with obtuse editors who rather not collaborate. Certainly real life is what is most important. I look forward to your return in your own time. Until then, cheers, Kierzek (talk) 00:06, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- From one dog lover to another, please take breath and a wikibreak, then come back. We need editors like you. Cheers, - FlightTime (open channel) 00:56, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- I second what Kierzek says. Your work is much appreciated. Know you will be welcomed back if and when you decide to return. â Diannaa đ (talk) 13:15, 1 October 2025 (UTC)
- @Obenritter, you've been editing for more than a decade. Give yourself a sabbatical! -- asilvering (talk) 06:41, 1 October 2025 (UTC)

A fox for you!
[edit]
Welcome back.
7&6=thirteen (â) 21:30, 31 October 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, welcome back. Just at your own pace. Do what you wanna do. I donât go on every day like I used to, I found that if I wait a week or even two weeks, itâs better these days. Keep up the good work, as always. Cheers, Kierzek (talk) 18:25, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Kierzek As usual, you give great advice. I am going to edit sporadically myself, as the break was much needed. Plus, I am mixing languages these days all the more it seems. Getting old, I suppose. Hope you are well, Sir.--Obenritter (talk) 20:54, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
Request for review rewritten article about Burgundian king Gondioc
[edit]Hi Obbenritter, I've updated, and rewritten the article about the Burgundian king Gondioc. I'm not a native English speaker, and I think it needs a language check. I've read that you teach history and, given your interests, are well-versed in this period of history. Therefore, I'd like to ask you to double-check the article. Greetings Geoffrey F (talk) 18:49, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Greetings Geoffrey F, I'd be happy to assist where I can. --Obenritter (talk) 19:35, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- Geoffrey F I'll have a look as well if I find time. But I should already mention that I worked recently on Burgundians and placed a lot of useful sources there. I'll go look at Gundioc.--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 21:21, 10 November 2025 (UTC)
- I see you've checked it thoroughly. It improves the quality, thanks. And Andrew I will read your contribution!
- I've removed the incorrect quotes and added a correct one. I could't read the orginal sources and thought to manage it with some help of AI, but unfortunately it was fantasizing.Geoffrey F (talk) 21:07, 12 November 2025 (UTC)
- I hope you don't find me annoying and that I frustrate your efforts by revert changes. I'm genuinely interested in the period leading up to the end of the Western Roman Empire. Reading "De wereld van Clovis, de val van Rome en de geboorte van het westen "by Jeroen Wijnendaele piqued my interest in Gundioc. Don't get me wrong, I'm well-intentioned. Quality must be leading Greetings Geoffrey F (talk) 17:44, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Geoffrey F - I've not seen you make any reverts that were problematic. You simply trusted AI without verifying is all I saw. Those are fixable. We all make mistakes, which is why Wikipedia works best if we collaborate instead of playing "one-upsmanship". Not sure if there is an equivalent Dutch word for that expression - Voel je vrij om me daarover verder te informeren. Pardon me for any grammatical errors there...my Dutch is not the best. In German I'd say "es ist am Besten wenn wir Prestigekampf oder Ăberbietungswettbewerb vermeiden." --Obenritter (talk) 17:08, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
