Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that one or more recent edits you made did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

or in the visual editor:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Describe what you changed

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. Thanks! Also, please do not contribute to the English Wikipedia if you are not comfortable communicating in English. Remsense 🌈  19:24, 6 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm Arcrev1. I noticed that in this edit to Iraqw people, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. - Arcrev1 (talk) 13:38, 12 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Tomao

[edit]

Hello! Could you please provide the sources regarding the Mongols referred to as Tomao? I would greatly appreciate it if you could also include any sources that mention their population size and area of residence, if such information is available. Thank you in advance! Well it is a Mongolian ethnic minority, which is classified within the Hui group, they are Sunni Muslims, I have seen them called Tomao, tuomau. The same wiki has it registered as a group not recognized by the Chinese government, I leave a video https://youtube.com/shorts/u9QJwlVjJzY?si=QG9pDsF-dsyV3IuH,I would like to create an article for them, but I am a novice. They have a page on Chinese wikipedia Neophisis (talk) 16:03, 13 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the video! It was very informative. I also came across two articles online - 1) Yan Deliang (2020). "A Re-examination of the Tomao People" (托茂再考). Center for the Study of Ethnic Minorities in Northwest China, Lanzhou University, 2) Ethnic Minority Observation. "On the Tomao People of Qinghai and Xinjiang." November 2011. They're in Chinese, but I used a translator to get a general understanding of this ethnic group. KoizumiBS (talk) 22:24, 16 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
