First Time Using Wikipedia

[edit]

Hey guys, this is my first time using Wikipedia so I am unsure if I am doing this correctly. Please let me know if there are any edits I need to make. I am pretty sure I submitted a conflict of interest as I am writing about my Grandpa. Everything I have written is factual with proof. Mya Velvin (talk) 13:55, 25 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your submission at Articles for creation: Tony R. Pope (September 28)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reason left by Paul W was:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The comment the reviewer left was:
The draft article has various inline citations but the references include nothing significant about Pope (it fails WP:GNG). With the possible exception of Ref 1 (which doesn't link to its target article), there are no citations that extend to more than routine mentions of Pope or the businesses mentioned.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.
