TFA status

@Wehwalt: @Gog the Mild: @SchroCat: As you know I tried to help at TFA noms this month. I did the best I could. Someone told me my TFA blurbs need to be better. The problem is, I'm not good at wordsmithing. This is why I don't do things like write new articles or try to get articles to FA status. If my blurb writing is a problem, please let me know now and I will cease working on TFA noms. If what I've done at TFA noms is acceptable, I will keep trying to help as I did this month. Apollo 6

I'm a bit confused by this edit. Talk:Apollo 6 states that the article was an On This Day article April 4, 2004, and Wikipedia:Today's featured article/April 4, 2004 says that Platypus was the TFA on that date. There's nothing that prohibits an article from being both an On This Day article and then later a featured article. See for instance Talk:Battle of Glasgow, Missouri, where that article was a OTD article in 2009, 2014, 2019, and 2021 and then TFA in 2024. Is there something that I'm missing here? this edit though is correct as is this one (I'm not sure how the 2024 running didn't get removed by the bot that maintains the never on main page listing). There's a bot that maintains that page, but situations like the Lincoln one where an article is TFA, then is delisted from FA, and then repromoted will throw it off. @Hog Farm:Also, after I did that, I realized there may be a rule that articles that were TFA that long ago count as never TFA, but I'm still not sure of that. The reason is that if you look, both Lincoln and Chitty Chitty have been added back in, probably by a bot. MisawaSakura (talk) 23:51, 20 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Articles can be TFA a second time if it has been at least 5 years since they last were TFA. Although the preference is for those who have never been TFA, recent FAR survivors, and those who have had a longer time since the first promotion. Hog Farm _Talk 00:28, 21 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Dr. Blofeld I've worked Aomori Prefecture the last few weeks. It's certainly better than it was before. I'd like to get it at least to GA possibly FA.
