June 2025

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Idi Amin, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Please see MOS:SURNAME & MOS:REFSPACE. After the first mention, we normally just use the surname unless there is a need to distinguish the individual from others. We also do not put spaces before footnotes. I have corrected both, as well as correcting a verb tense from present to past. Peaceray (talk) 15:53, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for deviating from style and I will be sure to look through the pages you mentioned. Thank you for correcting it. Mindfold24 (talk) 00:47, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Karma in Hinduism

[edit]

@Mindfold24 I noticed that you had cited same Bhattacharjee source twice (1, 2) while making edits on this page. You may want to look at reusing references. Also, I reverted those two edits on Karma in Hinduism because the new content is redundant. We can discuss this on the talk page if you feel that it should be added. Asteramellus (talk) 23:13, 19 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I was not aware of how to reuse sources, but I will be sure to do that in the future. As for the content I added, I agree it reads as repetitive. The reason I added it was because the opening explains the principle of karma yoga, or acting without attachment. The later sentences extend that principle to its fullest realization by showing how enlightened saints who know Brahman and Atman continue to act in the world, but with complete detachment. My aim was to provide more detail on how karma yoga is embodied in practice. That said, I think the passage works without it. Mindfold24 (talk) 00:49, 27 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the feedback. I realize now that my phrasing may have been too close to the original, and I will be more careful about that in future edits. I plan to revise the text as follows: "Evidence suggest that mindfulness-based interventions are effective, and many medical schools have introduced such programs into their curricula. These initiatives are intended to help address systemic challenges in medical training, and studies indicate that they can reduce stress and burnout among medical students, particularly MBSR." Please let me know your thoughts before I add it. I want to add it because this content helps readers understand both the adoption of MBSR in medical education and its documented benefits for medical students which helps show the overall benefit of MBSR.
