Your submission at Articles for creation: Juliette de Marcellus (July 23)

[edit]
Your recent article submission to Articles for Creation has been reviewed. Unfortunately, it has not been accepted at this time. The reasons left by Paul W were:
This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.
The content of this submission includes material that does not meet Wikipedia's minimum standard for inline citations. Please cite your sources using footnotes. For instructions on how to do this, please see Referencing for beginners. Thank you.
The comment the reviewer left was:
No references giving significant coverage about the subject in published reliable independent secondary sources. Large sections of the draft are devoid of inline citations. Being the author of published work is commonplace - it does not make her notable.
Please check the submission for any additional comments left by the reviewer. You are encouraged to edit the submission to address the issues raised and resubmit after they have been resolved.

Hi. Can you let me know if the decline was due to references or due to the nature of the subject. Should a woman who co-produced many productions with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Kogosowski, for both television and live concerts, including Schubertiades at Sotheby's regularly attended by British royalty, and who was a leading newspaper music critic in the south east of the United States, as well co-producing classical performances in Palm Beach is worthy of a wikipedia article or not. If the answer is "yes", I will continue to chase down references (which are a pain, since most of the archives are behind paywalls or on non-digital archives as many of these events were pre-internet). If the answer is "no", then I'll stop banging my head against the wall. Thank you! MikeMascari (talk) 12:41, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi MikeMascari. The decline is due to the absence of verifiable references showing significant coverage (WP:SIGCOV which "addresses the topic directly and in detail ... [and] is more than a trivial mention") about Juliette de Marcellus (not her relatives or ancestry) in reliable independent secondary sources. The draft gives numerous references to works by her, but not about her or her work. Has she been profiled anywhere? Have her concert productions or books been independently reviewed by reputable publications? We assume good faith if non-digital sources are cited, so long as it would be possible for someone to go to the same (or a similar) archive, etc, and verify the source. I hope this helps.
