Thanks for improving Gothic articles!

[edit]

Hello! I watch a lot of articles related to Gothic fiction so I just wanted to send some appreciation for your slow-and-steady improvements articles like The Monk, Ann Radcliffe, and Gothic fiction. It's nice to see these topics getting some love! ~ L 🌸 (talk) 05:11, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, wow thank you for the kind words. I LOVE gothic literature, and all the figures associated with it. I just wish I could do more for these pages, I really do. I give these topics love because they give me so much enjoyment. I hope my edits on these pages get people motivated and passionate, and realize how damn cool Ann Radcliffe, The Monk, and all of this literature was, and still is. You have been working on Mamie Van Doren with me and there is really only one source, which is her own autobiography, meaning the source is far from neutral. Do you have any other source or can you try to work on it? Wcamp9 (talk) 20:03, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will try and work on Mamie's page, I haven't had much time lately to dedicate to it though. I like that new life has been brought to it, the page was neglected for a long time. Michael0986 (talk) 23:15, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I hope by 2025 the article is good or featured but if you have another source such as Atomic Blonde or some Mamie Van Doren memorabilia since you have been working on it for so long please share it. Also, the latter half of the article has not been worked on because I'm working on it start to finish finding the details along with traversing through her autobiography (https://archive.org/details/playingfield00rhva) Wcamp9 (talk) 23:22, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Psycho III, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daily News. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Search of Images Basketball Players

[edit]

Hello, its nice to talk again since last summer when I had my thing on the Mamie Van Doren article. I have a question: since you are so good at collecting images, can you try to find newspaper images of popular basketball players and try to match them up with color images on AP newsroom, such as Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, BIll Russell, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, etc. They all have color photos of them taken on Associated Press Newsroom but I need to find their copyright status via newspapers. They have to be pre-1989 too. Wcamp9 (talk) 01:54, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Hi Michael0986. Thank you for your work on Vancenza; or, the Dangers of Credulity. Another editor, LEvalyn, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Can't believe there was no article for Vancenza!

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|LEvalyn}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Oh, another note since I just reviewed your equally valuable article on Barozzi -- it is helpful if you can create the Talk page and put the article in some Wikiprojects as part of your "process". That's the only polishing I felt I needed to do as a New Page Patroller. The WP:RATER tool makes this easier. I hope I'll see more new articles from you! And, after you've made 25 articles, you should definitely request the Autopatrolled user right so your articles don't have to go through the NPP queue. ~ L 🌸 (talk) 22:39, 15 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, very surprising, and slightly disappointing there wasn't an article for Vancenza. Would be nice if an independent publisher could properly and professionally re-issue novels such as Hubert, Angelina or Vancenza, let alone major publishes like Oxford or Penguin. I think the three Gothic articles I've created are... undeveloped let's say. Hopefully other Gothic aficionados will contribute soon. By the way, really enjoy the Ellen, Countess of Castle Howel article, great work. Michael0986 (talk) 22:31, 16 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
