Please do not add content based on original research
[edit]The basic principals of Wikipedia include Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:No original research. Therefore content should be based on reliable published sources (see Wikipedia:Reliable sources) and must not be based on original, unpublished research.
Saying, as you did on another editor's userpage, "ask anybody from that area" is inviting editors to do original research; for editors to make changes based on our personal knowledge of the places we live (and of what the people we know call things) is also original research.
