DYK for Greater Western Sydney vs Brisbane Lions (2024 AFL season)
[edit]On 1 July 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Greater Western Sydney vs Brisbane Lions (2024 AFL season), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a 44-point comeback in a 2024 semi-final was the Australian Football League's largest semifinal comeback ever? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Lions v Giants (2024 AFL Season). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Greater Western Sydney vs Brisbane Lions (2024 AFL season)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Style
[edit]Hello. Thanks for the work on major awards. Just quickly, to keep it consistent with earlier seasons that already have their awards, can you style it as (for example) "Matt Rowell of Gold Coast" rather than "Gold Coast's Matt Rowell". That will also make some of the more awkward ones like "Sam Darcy of the Western Bulldogs" flow a bit more naturally. Aspirex (talk) 03:52, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Aspirex sure thing. Thanks for the advice! Joecompan (talk) 04:48, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- Please disregard this advice; for one, "Gold Coast's Matt Rowell" (and even "the Western Bulldogs' Sam Darcy" and "the Brisbane Lions' Will Ashcroft") flows perfectly fine and is less awkward/overly formal than "Matt Rowell of Gold Coast", and this is something that will eventually be applied to all articles (has already been applied to roughly the first third of the season articles). Additionally, rather than using the full club names (or in your case, using the monikers for every club), please just use the Template:AFL shortcuts –
{{AFL|___}}
– as that's what they were created for. I've reformatted these sections accordingly, but thanks for adding them in the first place, and keep up the good work. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 17:31, 29 September 2025 (UTC) - Apologies for the wrong advice, I was unaware 4TheWynne (talk · contribs) was implementing a change from the previous style.
