DYK for Aquilegia gegica
[edit]On 4 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Aquilegia gegica, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Aquilegia gegica and Aquilegia colchica, two species of columbine native to the Caucasus, can produce fertile hybrid offspring? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Aquilegia gegica. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Aquilegia gegica), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK for Aquilegia barykinae
[edit]On 8 January 2025, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Aquilegia barykinae, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Aquilegia barykinae is likely more closely related to other species of columbine than to Aquilegia amurensis, which shares its range? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Aquilegia barykinae. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Aquilegia barykinae), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. propagate.one
[edit]Propagate.one, which you've cited as a source for vernacular names for Aquilegia baluchistanica and Aquilegia hirsutissima appears to me to be very likely to be AI (Large Language Model) garbage. I'm removing the source and the statements it purports to support. Plantdrew (talk) 00:19, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, drat, thanks @Plantdrew. I should have picked up on that! Jacketpocket (talk) 09:43, 17 January 2025 (UTC)
Aquilegia oxysepala
[edit]Just wanted to let you know that I'm working on an Aquilegia oxysepala article. Since you're moving alphabetically, I figured there was the chance we may end up overlapping on that one. Once I publish the draft on the project, I'll link it here so you can add anything you want before I push it to the main page. It's awesome to see you back on the project after those last couple months—I was worried! ~ Pbritti (talk) 14:02, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads-up @Pbritti! I was going to steer clear of Aquilegia oxysepala and the others you mentioned before, but will be great to have oxysepala especially as it seems to be a taxonomically significant species.
- Also, thanks for the great work on the genus article and new species list! No need to worry about me - just juggling a busy job and a part-time degree, so sometimes Wikipedia has to take a back seat :) Jacketpocket (talk) 14:38, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
- Glad to hear that you're prioritizing the real world. I was extremely glad to see that you made it back in time to see that update to Aquilegia go live! I have to whip up some graphics for it (a couple phylogenies, a floral diagram, and possibly a lifecycle diagram), but I think it's otherwise in a good enough condition to solidly stand for at least a few years. If you need access to Nold 2003 since they yanked it from the free list on Archive.org, just ping me! ~ Pbritti (talk) 14:44, 1 June 2025 (UTC)
