SO/SS typo in some of your ASCII charts
[edit]Hello, FYI, I notice that in a few of your SVG charts of ASCII-related character sets, there's a typo in the C0 section, where code 14 (shift out) is rendered as SS rather than SO. See File:ISO-646-infobox.svg, File:ASCII1963-infobox-paths.svg, and File:ASCII-infobox.svg. This chart, File:ISO-646-JP-paths.svg has it right. I haven't checked any others. ~~ Birdfern (talk) 05:23, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- That isn't strictly a typo—it's the result of using a font which didn't have the Unicode 9.0 correction for U+240E ␎ SYMBOL FOR SHIFT OUT in the Control Pictures block—but it is still worth fixing. Thanks for pointing it out. --HarJIT (talk) 08:45, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- Ah, interesting, thanks for mentioning that. I did think "Was code 14 originally 'Shift Start' or something?" and checked the 1963 ASCII spec, but it didn't occur to me that the reason would be found in a Unicode spec from half a century later!
