Ways to improve José Castelo Branco

[edit]

Hello, GrandDukeMarcelo,

Thank you for creating José Castelo Branco.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

This looks very much like a translatin from the Portuguese Wikipedia because some of the references access predate this creation. Please access these sources to verify them, and add accesss dates where they are missing. Fr help please see WP:CITE. Please make the required attribution for this translation.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Kudpung}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Emma Manners, Duchess of Rutland, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Prep school. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 19:54, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Autobiography

[edit]

Can I use someone's autobiography to edit and cite their page? GrandDukeMarcelo (talk) 23:15, 5 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Someone's autobiography would be a primary source- someone speaking about themselves- so it would need to be used consistent with that guideline. 331dot (talk) 01:54, 6 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited National Coach Museum, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page King Charles II.

Some help

[edit]

You may find Template:Infobox historic site to be of use; it allows more information on (especially anglosphere) historic buildings than the generic building one, imho.

Be warned of the pitfalls of infobox frenzy (I have fallen foul of it & it is a contentious topic in the historic house area, see my old edit history/talk page/... probably).

Earl of Rosebery

[edit]

In the case of this peer, does the page name keep the oldest title only? Or can we add/move the page to include the second Earldom (e.g. Harry Primrose, 8th Earl of Rosebery, 4th Earl of Midlothian) — Preceding unsigned comment added by GrandDukeMarcelo (talkcontribs) 20:07, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

You need to distinguish between writing about the title and the persons who hold the title. In this case, the article about the title makes the subsidiarity of Midlothian fairly clear, but there is no benefit from changing the title of the article to include it). — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 21:24, 25 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
