Rater on GitHub

[edit]

Hey Evad37. How are you? I hope you're having a great week. I'm a wikimedia-gadgets GitHub member, and I've been helping with maintenance on XFDcloser lately. It's been super helpful to have it in the wikimedia-gadgets repo. I was wondering if you'd be interested in transferring https://github.com/evad37/rater to wikimedia-gadgets as well? Just an idea to future proof things a bit. Up to you of course. If not no worries. Thanks! –Novem Linguae (talk) 23:36, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that would be cool! Because I rewrote it a bit, added the ability to localize and local configurations: https://github.com/In1quity/rater :) And I would be glad to see this in the master :)
window.RATER_CONFIG_URL = "https://ru.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Iniquity/config.json&action=raw&ctype=application/json";
mw.loader.load('//www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=User:Iniquity/rater.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript'); // Backlink: [[w:en:User:Evad37/rater.js]]

 Done https://github.com/wikimedia-gadgets/rater , thanks for looking after things Novem Linguae - Evad37 [talk] 00:48, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Appreciate it. By the way, I thought Rater was a gadget -- I forgot it's still in your userspace. Do I have your permission to deploy Rater updates to your userspace, or do you prefer that it be forked? I feel like I should get official permission from you before using intadmin rights to edit your userspace. Up to you :) –Novem Linguae (talk) 02:36, 15 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't really mind if you want to continue deploying to my userspace; I'm also okay with you deploying elsewhere if you want. - Evad37 [talk] 02:06, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Will deploy to your userspace for simplicity. Thanks! –Novem Linguae (talk) 04:01, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I use your script User:Evad37/duplinks-alt frequently and find it very useful. Thank you for your work on it! I was wondering if it would be possible to update the script to help with the updated version of MOS:REPEATLINK, which changed the guidelines to be that a link should appear roughly once per section (level 2 heading) rather than once per article? Appreciate your work on scripts that make editing easier! Perfect4th (talk) 03:34, 16 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
