John Jay Article
[edit]Hey, I don't know how to leave a signature so sorry about that but saw your edit. Those were college majors (have provided a link to the correct source), I don't know if it's against WP policy to list the majors the college offers (if it does, please feel free to let me know or undo it and I apologize) but wanted to give you the heads up. Anyway, it is dedicated to Criminal Justice, hence the college's name (John Jay College of Criminal Justice). Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.41.108.33 (talk • contribs) 22:16, November 4, 2021 (UTC)

St. Thomas University help
[edit]Any way you can help with a situation on St. Thomas University (Canada)? An obviously COI editor is adding promotional content and heavily overlinking the university's website. Their first account got soft blocked for username concerns but they created another one (which is allowed, but just wanted to note) wizzito | say hello! 20:37, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- Long history of COI fuckery on the article too, including by students themselves as part of a class. Talk:St. Thomas University (Canada) wizzito | say hello! 20:40, 9 September 2025 (UTC)
- They created another account and keep trying to edit the page despite being advised not to do so by you and me. I went to SPI. wizzito | say hello! 21:00, 10 September 2025 (UTC)
- Good call. They've also added the correct paid editing disclosure to their User page so I think we can wait to see what happens next. I recommend dropping them a friendly note in the article's Talk page, too, so they know that they're welcome to post requests, suggestions, and questions there. JMU Edits
[edit]I'm not sure we should be removing this information because of 2010 source. This program has only grown since then, and is much much larger than the ultimate frisbee group that is self-promoting on the page. Makes no sense to single out these groups and not that one. 2601:143:480:1460:6820:3F50:D9D:9949 (talk) 17:05, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
- Of course we can't use a source from 15 years ago to make a contemporary claim. If the claim is still true and it belongs in an encyclopedia article then editors should be able to provide a much more recent source.
- And if you believe there is other information in the article that is very outdated or otherwise inappropriate then you're welcome to remove it, too. ElKevbo (talk) 23:50, 11 September 2025 (UTC)
