The page User:DiamondThumb has been deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. As the page met any of these strictly-defined criteria, it was deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been deleted are:
- It seemed to be unambiguous advertising which only promoted a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to have been fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appeared to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free Web hosting service. (See section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion.)
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 15:25, 20 September 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your user page may not meet Wikipedia's user page guidelines. It is intended for basic information about yourself, your interests and goals as they relate to editing Wikipedia, as well as disclosures of conflicts of interest and paid editing. Although a lot of freedom is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not:
- an encyclopedia article (and should not be styled to look like one)
- a workspace for a draft article
- a personal website, blog, or social media site
- a space for self-promotion or other advertising
- a CV, resumé or lengthy autobiography
The user page guidelines have additional information on what is and what is not considered acceptable content. Please use your user sandbox or the draft article space to practice editing or to create new articles. Thank you. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 15:26, 20 September 2025 (UTC)
Your start at contributing to Wikipedia
[edit]I spent quite a while writing the following message to try to help you. When I tried to save it, I found someone else had got here while I was writing it, and posted the messages above, making my message somewhat redundant. However, having written it I may as well post it here, as you may find at least some of it helpful.
Hello, and welcome to contributing to Wikipedia. I hope you will have a successful time here. However, I'm afraid there are several problems with the way you have started, and I think it best to warn you about them right at the start, so that you can avoid building up further problems.
- You say that you are here to write about "[your] own 8-year project and invention, since it is finally ready for the public to assess it properly" However, Wikipedia does not seek to publicise new subjects which have not yet received public attention. To be suitable for inclusion, a subject needs to satisfy Wikipedia's notability guidelines. Unfortunately there are, in my opinion, far too many of those guidelines, and most of them are much longer and more complicated than they need to be, making them confusing for a new contributor, but the main point is that there has to already exist substantial coverage of the subject in multiple independent reliable published sources. I'm afraid your "project and invention" doesn't yet have that kind of coverage.
- Wikipedia is not a medium for people, groups, organisations, or businesses to write about themselves; instead, the aim is to present subjects as they are portrayed by independent, third party, observers. Therefore the guideline on conflict of interest strongly discourages writing about a subject to which you have a close personal connection, such as your own project. (Alas, that guideline too is too long and complicated, in my opinion.)
- Your user page is clearly written to persuade the reader that "chainWare" is good. It contains the kind of text which one would expect in material intended to promote or advertise something. However, such use of Wikipedia for promotion or advertising is not allowed.
For those reasons, your user page is not acceptable for Wikipedia, and will be deleted. You said that you were using the page "to learn how to use wikipedia". That is fine, in fact it's a very good idea to start out with a personal page for learning, rather than jumping straight into trying to make major contributions to articles, and risking making serious mistakes. However, you should re-create the page in a way which avoids the problems that I've mentioned. (Also, it will be better to make the page at User:DiamondThumb/Sandbox rather than User:DiamondThumb. Wikipedia user pages are for editors who are active in working for the project to give a little information about themselves in connection with their work for the encyclopaedia; they are not places to post any other kind of material. A sandbox page, however, is fine for practising, learning, and testing.)
You are, of course, very welcome to start making contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, on subjects unconnected to yourself, if you are interested in doing so, but if you wish to tell the world about your own work then I wish you every success, but Wikipedia is not the place to do it. - cool! thanks. i will play with it at the sandbox. thank you.
- the other wiki pages about my previous inventions always get it wrong. I was trying to laydown some guidelines as other people to come along and have a foundational understanding. it's ok.. it was just my user page. i appreciate you taking the time to explain these rules for articles also apply to the user page, too.
