Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

Topic-banned from all pages and discussions related to Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, including the associated protests

You have been sanctioned for continued POV, tendentious and disruptive editing in this topic-area, despite prior warnings.

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the procedure described at Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Discretionary sanctions. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. If the sanction includes a ban, please read the banning policy to ensure you understand what this means. If you do not comply with this sanction, you may be blocked for an extended period, by way of enforcement of this sanction—and you may also be made subject to further sanctions.

You may appeal this sanction using the process described here. I recommend that you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template if you wish to submit an appeal to the arbitration enforcement noticeboard. You may also appeal directly to me (on my talk page), before or instead of appealing to the noticeboard. Even if you appeal this sanction, you remain bound by it until you are notified by an uninvolved administrator that the appeal has been successful. You are also free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. El_C 14:15, 6 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement sanction

[edit]

The following sanction now applies to you:

You are indefiniely topic-banned from all pages related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, broadly construed.

You have been sanctioned for continued use of low-quality sources, misrepresentation of sources, and improper synthesis of sources, after a warning from Seraphimblade for the same behavior at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement/Archive313 § Result concerning Dev0745

This sanction is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/India-Pakistan#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure.

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Proto-Indo-European homeland & topic-ban

[edit]

You added a file, summarizing Heggarty et al. (2023) to Proto-Indo-European homeland diff, without providing the source. Heggarty et al. (2023) is not mentioned in the article, as it is bordering on fringe. And it is directly related to India, an area for which you have been topic-banned (in case you wish to doubt this: the trrm "Indo" in "Indo-European" is clear enough). Joshua Jonathan - Let's talk! 14:08, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You also edited Peopling of India, Iranian hunter-gatherers, Jhumair, and Indus Valley Civilisation. Did I miss something with regatd to your topic-ban? As far as I can see, you're still topic-banned. @Tamzin and Bishonen:, am I misunderstanding something here? Joshua Jonathan - Let's talk! 14:14, 5 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The ban was narrowed to "politics, religion, and culture in India and Pakistan" [1] in January 2025, so many of these edits are exempt. But, Dev0745 was violating even the narrower TBAN while an appeal was pending at AN [2] (Culture), [3] (Culture/Politics), [4] (Culture) (examples only: there's a slew of film-related edits), as well as continuing to violate it after the appeal was declined [5] (Culture), [6] (Politics). I'm beginning to wonder if they do not care enough to abide by the TBAN. In skimming their edits I also found this gem [7], which adds text directly contradicting the cited source, and is exactly the sort of thing they were banned for three years ago. These topics are related to history and Geography. As far I know, I am not banned topic related to History and Geography. Also I have read reverting vandalism is not count. Dev0745 (talk) 02:00, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The origin of the Indo-European languages is definitely about culture, and, more importantly, directly related to politics, as it is a controversial issue for Indian nationalists. Joshua Jonathan - Let's talk! 05:15, 6 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

April 2025

To enforce an arbitration decision, you have been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia.

If you believe this block is unjustified, please read the guide to appealing blocks (specifically this section) before appealing. Place the following on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Please copy my appeal to the [[WP:AE|arbitration enforcement noticeboard]] or [[WP:AN|administrators' noticeboard]]. Your reason here OR place the reason below this template. ~~~~}}. If you intend to appeal on the arbitration enforcement noticeboard, I suggest you use the arbitration enforcement appeals template on your talk page so it can be copied over easily. You may also appeal directly to me (by email), before or instead of appealing on your talk page.

Reminder to administrators: In May 2014, ArbCom adopted the following procedure instructing administrators regarding Arbitration Enforcement blocks: "No administrator may modify a sanction placed by another administrator without: (1) the explicit prior affirmative consent of the enforcing administrator; or (2) prior affirmative agreement for the modification at (a) AE or (b) AN or (c) ARCA (see "Important notes"). Administrators modifying sanctions out of process may at the discretion of the committee be desysopped."

After 10 April 2026, this block may be appealed using {{unblock}} just like any other disruptive editing block. Currently it does not seem that you intend to edit within the bounds of your topic ban. I would need to be convinced that this is incorrect to grant an appeal directly to me. --Guerillero Parlez Moi 11:38, 10 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
