Reference format
[edit]See Help:Referencing for beginners on how to format references. Refs should not be just URLs. A good approach is to create refs in your Sandbox, only copying into a draft or article when satisfied with the format. David notMD (talk) 12:15, 11 November 2024 (UTC)

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Middle School Public Debate Program requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. RE:Middle School Public Debate Program
[edit]If you're going to be building up the article over the course of a few days, consider working on it in a draft instead? TornadoLGS (talk) 20:21, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- I made a few updates to it, and will be significantly more detailed today. Thanks. —- Mangoflies (talk) 20:25, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
- I've removed the speedy deletion tag since the article has been expanded, and A1 no longer applies. CycloneYoris talk! 20:30, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
Hello, Mangoflies
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Kudpung, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, Middle School Public Debate Program, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.
If you wish to contest the deletion:
- Edit the page
- Remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- Click the button.
If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kudpung}}
. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Deletion tips
[edit]Hi, Mr./Ms. Earth!
You've been putting a lot of work into deletions (WP:CSD,WP:PROD, WP:AFD) with very mixed results. Based on typical outcomes, you'd hope to be getting at least 70% success at AFD and higher than that at PROD and CSD. I've compiled a list below; I may be missing some successful PRODs and CSDs.
It's hard for any newish editor to get deletions right. A better use of your time might be to participate in lots of AfD discussions - you'll start to get a feel for how the community reacts to different nominations. You'll also start to build your credibility. After you have several thousand edits, you'll have a better feel for things.
Take a look at WP:BEFORE. These are things I always check:
- Google search
- Google News search
- Google Books search
- Google Scholar search
- Corresponding articles in other language versions of Wikipedia
- "What links here"
- Any unusual deletions in the article's history that may have removed references
- Talk page
If I think an article should be deleted but there's any chance someone might object, I take it to WP:AFD
I always look for an alternative to deletion WP:ATD -- it's something we're supposed to do before recommending deletion.
The The Wikipedia Library is a great resource
I hope this helps. I appreciate your willingness to help out here! --A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 22:24, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
