List of King's and Queen's commissioners of Gelderland moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to List of King's and Queen's commissioners of Gelderland. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. — Moriwen (talk) 14:08, 20 May 2025 (UTC)
Communicate
[edit]Hi CommanderShepardX! I see you have been adding information to lists of Dutch politicians. In several cases, I have started a discussion because I didn't think all additions were an improvement. So far, you have not responded to any of them, but have continued editing pages in a similar way. I have also noticed that this behaviour matches two accounts who edited the same pages in the same way. Could you have a look at Wikipedia:Communication is required and respond to further discussions? I have no intention to frustrate your efforts, but I believe together we can reach a consensus. Notes:
- In some cases, you may not in fact be blocked, or your block has already expired. Please check the list of active blocks. If no block is listed, then you have been autoblocked by the automated anti-vandalism systems. Please remove this request and follow these instructions instead for quick attention by an administrator.
- Please read our guide to appealing blocks to make sure that your unblock request will help your case. You may change your request at any time.
If you ask the blocking administrator to comment on this request, replace this template with the following, replacing "blocking administrator" with the name of the blocking admin:

I spend most of my time learing about history and the World online and have been using Wikipedia as one of the main sources to expand my knowledge. I've been active on Wikipedia since about 2008 if I remember correctly and it has been a hugh positive thing in my life, one of the few bright spots. Communication skills has been one of biggest handicaps in my life, for as long as I can remember I essentially "close myself off" when someome has criticized me when I have only tried to make improvements in a positive way, I've never purposely made "bad" edits in my life. I think Wikpedia is way to important to vandalizing it. While I understand that some may find my lack of communication troublesome I find the way some people have commented on my edits very confrontational and hurtful when I have only tried to help. I had to look up what "sockpuppet" means and those accounts are mine. "A sock puppet, sock puppet account, or simply sock is a false online identity used for deceptive purposes" I strongly object to being called deceptive and find the terminology very hurtful I've never tried to deceive anyone. I'm only guilty of trying to avoid confrontations that have such a bad impact on my mental health. By blocking me in this way you have effectively removed one of the few positive things in my life and I don't know how I'm able to cope with this in the long run, your decision has made a severe bad impact on my current mental state. - Hi @CommanderShepardX:, thanks for responding and clarifying your situation. I'm sorry if my communication style has come across as confrontational and hurtful. It has never been my intention to take away what makes you happy. As I have noted on the administration board, I have always considered your edits to be in good faith and I value your work. Even if I do not necessarily agree with them 100%. Communication is however essential for this project, and we are working on the same topics. Not-communicating takes away happiness in editing Wikipedia for me and others.
- Would it help you if we have some off-wiki discussions in Dutch (mail or discord)? We can reach a consensus on some of the table issues I have raised, and perhaps give you the confidence that users here are here to help you, not to criticize you. If that can be a start to participating in future discussions, I support unblocking you (although that is not up to me). Dajasj (talk) 17:37, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
Hi, I'm an uninvolved editor (not an admin), and came to share some helpful advice I've seen given to people who are requesting an unblock. It shouldn't be too difficult, as Dasjasj points out, they were clear that your efforts are in good faith and you are adding to the encyclopedia.
Having said that, one of the most important parts of getting unblocked is expressing that you understand the reason for the block and what steps you will take in the future. Nobody expects you to jump straight into contentious debates about anything, but can we help you find some way to respond to questions or suggestions? Even with a brief acknowledgement?
I don't know if it would help, but I believe there is a program to assign experienced mentors to users, would you be comfortable communicating with someone like that?MilesVorkosigan (talk) 18:11, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- Oh, and thank you for being forthright about the older accounts being yours. That helps make it clear that you had no intent to deceive. Good luck! MilesVorkosigan (talk) 18:25, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
Hello Mike, thank you for being so open about your situation. You may have seen me around working on articles you've authored. I only wanted to say I admire all the effort you've put into Wikipedia, and that I value the huge contribution you've made to Dutch political biographies. I hope you'll have your block rescinded. Luxorr (talk) 19:11, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi Mike, happy to lift the block provided you can make a commitment to communicating with others. It's ok for you to avoid it in general - I have no interest in forcing you to start long conversations or anything like that. But if someone is trying to ask you why you've made a certain edit, you should respond to them, especially if you're going to keep making more edits that are similar. Even just something like "ok, sorry about that" goes a long way. Lots of Wikipedia editors are autistic and will understand. :) Can you please respond to this message (just an "I understand" is fine), and can you confirm for me that ATX-NL and TheDutchViewer are both you and you haven't made any other accounts? There's no sockpuppetry problem here as none of the accounts have been blocked, so don't worry about that. Thanks. -- asilvering (talk) 20:42, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
