Happy editing! SatellaN64 (talk) 20:58, 24 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. I am helping cleanup after a user who was using LLMs to mass-rewrite article leads without any review. This was discussed at ANI [1] and WP:AICLEAN [2]. One of the articles they edited was Human brain development timeline, which prior to their edit had no lead whatsoever. I saw that you edited the lead afterwards but this editor was not reviewing their leads at all, demonstrated no subject matter expertise in this subject, and I am pretty sure the LLM introduced unsourced content. So I just blanked the entire lead.

Giving you a heads up as a courtesy here. Of course, if you have the expertise to write a lead for this article that would be great :) NicheSports (talk) 15:51, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Please review the template use at {{Recent death}}. Thank you, - FlightTime (open channel) 18:34, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. To be fair, it was still being heavily edited a few hours ago. Chess enjoyer (talk) 19:22, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I removed the template two days ago for lack of activity, but all's good. Cheers, - FlightTime (open channel) 20:22, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Chess enjoyer,

Please revert your closure of this AFD. This was a very bad choice for a non-admin closure especially for an editor with your limited editing experience. If you haven't already, read Wikipedia:Non-admin closure and follow the guidelines closely. If you have questions, please bring them to the Teahouse. Liz Read! Talk! 23:05, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Could you please explain what was wrong with my closure? I did read NAC, and I thought I knew what I was doing when I made the close (in hindsight, perhaps I fell into pit #1). Do you think my reading of the consensus was wrong, or just that it should've been someone more experienced? Chess enjoyer (talk) 23:55, 26 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template. Hipal (talk) 20:14, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2025 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:58, 18 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
