Atlantic-85s

[edit]

Hi @CJsnail

Just to let you know I'm going to remove the update for the Atlantic 85's.

Not that you have done anything wrong.

It's just that at this time, Sheringham station is closed due to safety issues with the building, and doubt hangs over its future. Seems a bit inappropriate to say they're getting a new boat, when they might not even have a station. And I've been asked by one of the crew to remove it for now.

Hi@Ojsyork That is absolutely fair enough at least in the back of are minds we all know that eventually we might need to update! Would it maybe be possible to leave thare numbers along the side as we know that B-954 and B-955 are in production but that was dosent upset anyone as like what you have done with B-952 and B-953 sorry if that was confusing thanks CJsnail (talk) 22:10, 22 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Y-boats

[edit]

Hi @CJsnail

Thanks for the update. Much overdue, excellent.

I have to say, I think it needs a bit of work, BUT, for the life of me, I can't quite put a finger on how to improve it. ie, "ALB attached to" is a bit clunky, but I haven't managed to work out an improvement.

Where did you find all the info?

Martin Ojsyork (talk) 08:28, 9 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

hi@Ojsyork
I agree "Alb attached" to isn't quite right but like you cant think of a better way to put it and i used the rnli open data platform do find a map from 2024 with all fleet locations i then download this to excel and filtered a column for y boats and then it tells you the number location and year on service i then go onto the trent or servern fleet list and find the ALB at the same location as the y boat check it was there at 2024 then add it to the list. I also apply some knowledge to stations i have visited as Yarmouth IOW has 2 Y boats 1 of which they unofficially use as a ILB. please let me know if you would like me to add the fleet list for XP and A class

@CJsnail
I realised that all the y-boats are listed in the LBES handbook against the station information, so I'll add that citation shortly.
ALB attached to, has been changed to Host, will maybe make Host ALB
Also been thinking that the key info is the host boat, not the station, so going to swap them on the table.
Yes, please crack on with X and XP if you can.

Forgot to mention:
There's a station shortcut
e.g.
Hartlepool = Hartlepool Lifeboat Station Ojsyork
