Thank you for contributing to the article Kirinji (band). However, please do not use unreliable sources such as blogs, wikis, personal websites, and websites and publications with a poor reputation for checking the facts or with no editorial oversight. These sources may express views that are widely acknowledged as pushing a particular point-of-view, sometimes even extremist, being promotional in nature, or relying heavily on rumors and personal opinions. One of Wikipedia's core policies is that contributions must be verifiable through reliable sources, preferably using inline citations. If you require further assistance, please look at Help:Menu/Editing Wikipedia, or ask at the Teahouse. Thank you. Jay8g [V•T•E] 06:05, 23 June 2025 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]
Hello, BoatsandTrains. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Whitney Reynolds, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 19:18, 7 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hello Tacyarg,
- I do have a COI with the Whitney Reynolds page as she has hired me as an intern to fix up her page, although she wanted it to be more on the promotional side...
- Any help and advice for me to make her article more suited for Wikipedia would be much appreciated.
- Thank you. BoatsandTrains (talk) 02:42, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for disclosing your conflict of interest. You'll need to request changes on the article's Talk page rather than making them yourself. The "propose changes" link above explains how to do this. Best wishes, Tacyarg (talk) 08:30, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- You've uploaded the images as "own work" - is that correct, you took them? Tacyarg (talk) 08:43, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- I did not take the pictures myself, but they were provided to me by Whitney Reynolds herself, so I am uploading them on her behalf with her permission. Do I need additional verification for their inclusion? BoatsandTrains (talk) 21:41, 12 August 2025 (UTC)
- Yes, you will need whoever has the copyright to release it to Wikipedia. I will post some guidance about images. Tacyarg (talk) 21:50, 12 August 2025 (UTC)

- You need to read WP:BOSS and WP:PAID.
- In an edit summary on Draft:Kelsey Lake, you also mentioned a COI. Is that also paid work? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:47, 14 August 2025 (UTC)

Welcome!
Hello, BoatsandTrains, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that ...
- ...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- ...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- ...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- ...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
- ...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process – at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}} on your talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:
