Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate that you enjoy using Wikipedia, please note that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and not a social network. Wikipedia is not a place to socialize or write things that are not directly related to improving the encyclopedia. Off-topic material may be deleted at any time. We're sorry if this message has discouraged you from editing here, but the ultimate goal of this website is to build an encyclopedia. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 16:59, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Specifically, there is no "friend" mechanism as there might be on Facebook or other social media, so while you can contact other editors asking for help, making friend requests doesn't really work that way. Acroterion (talk) 17:01, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Nooooo, really? Berkeleywho (talk) 18:34, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's true! You can leave a message on anyone's user talkpage, and they can respond (or anyone else can respond too, like I am doing here:). And the "watchlist" lets you track when anyone leaves a message on a talkpage or article in which you are interested. What specific feature would you be interested in seeing if there were to be the concept of "friend" here? DMacks (talk) 19:08, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It would be nice to have a feed to see what edits people you choose make (friends or not). Right now, I found I can only search edits by one username. And even that is a bit convoluted. Is this right? Berkeleywho (talk) 16:49, 21 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There is a "thank" feature - you can see the little heart at the top of the screen on the right. That's about as far as it goes. Acroterion (talk) 23:14, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Jay8g. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Coca-Cola formula seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Jay8g [VTE] 19:11, 20 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
