Question from Gordon.m.phillips (18:58, 22 October 2025)
[edit]Hello,
Question from Bluebaddack (00:45, 8 November 2025)
[edit]I forgot my old wikipedia login. I want to create a Wikipedia page for numerous Japanese Animators and European directors.
I wonder if a matter of "old account" will maybe block me to create new profiles or not.
--Bluebaddack (talk) 00:45, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Bluebaddack: In general, having an old account shouldn't be an issue to creating a new one. See this page for additional info, and just be sure to not be using both accounts at the same time. AviationFreak💬 03:37, 8 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from OliviaRigby (04:36, 11 November 2025)
[edit]Hello. I found an article (biography) on somebody I don't believe is very notable, and I don't think it should be here on Wikipedia. It mainly states that this person simply existed, with no information that couldn't be found anywhere else. All it is about is a short lived child of a prominent 18th century figure, not uncommon for children to die young during that time; it also seems to have less than sufficient reliable sources to establish notability. See the article titled "Maria Elisabetta Carlotta of Savoy" to see it for yourself, recently edited by myself. I want to see what you think, since I am unsure of beginning a discussion surrounding that first. I've also just realized that I post unusually long questions here, so thank you for answering my absurdly long questions! <3 --OliviaRigby (talk) 04:36, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- Good question, happy to answer it! :) From looking at Maria Elisabetta Carlotta of Savoy, the claim to notability seems to lie in her having been a Princess of Savoy. I'm not familiar with how notability guidelines apply here (I don't see any WP:NROYAL, so presumably WP:GNG applies?), but I suspect arguments from people who are pro-keeping the article would focus on the fact that holders of some titles (especially rulers) are generally notable. I don't know how far this extends (i.e., how far do you have to be from the throne before you're nonnotable), but we do have quite a few articles on Princesses of Savoy. This is a case where I'm genuinely not sure how notable the person is. I'd recommend a WP:BEFORE check, looking at any deletion discussions on similar articles you can find, and going from there. I don't think opening a deletion discussion here would be unreasonable, but I'm also not sure how it would end up. Let me know if you have any other questions! AviationFreak💬 04:51, 11 November 2025 (UTC)
- Thank you for trying your best to help. Thank you for recommending I look at deletion discussions to similar articles, because I actually knew of a few beforehand. All of them regard children aged five or under, all of whom were the children of ruling monarchs. They seem to have died too soon to do anything noteworthy? So I think it would be worth trying. Thank you for suggesting looking through those old discussions. So I just nominate for deletion now? OliviaRigby (talk) 04:10, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Yep, that would be the next step! AviationFreak💬 17:30, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- Okay. I did that, but I reverted since I couldn't figure out how to create the discussion. I read this page, followed the instructions, but I was stuck when it came to creating the discussion. I tried to create the discussion by clicking the red link of that template. Sent me to create an entirely new page I believe. Is that how it's supposed to work? OliviaRigby (talk) 03:36, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- It's been a minute since I've done this, but I think the way to do it after making the initial template-adding edit is to click the "Preloaded Debate" link listed in step 2 on the template (you can see it in this revision). This will take you to a page to create the discussion itself, with some instructions on how to categorize the discussion, etc. After that page has been deleted, you should be able to jump straight to Step III of the instructions listed at WP:AFDHOWTO. That will make the discussion visible to other editors.
- I'll also note that Twinkle is an awesome utility for doing this and so many other things in an automated way that doesn't involve getting your hands quite so dirty with these kinds of manual technical edits, if that would be appealing to you. AviationFreak💬 04:12, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Just to clarify, after I create the discussion I move onto step three and add the article to the log? Thank you :) OliviaRigby (talk) 05:12, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Yep, and of course! AviationFreak💬 06:43, 15 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from Yellowdoglodge (02:07, 13 November 2025)
[edit]Hello mentor, How do I punish a draft? I also would like to add a map coordinate.
Thanks --Yellowdoglodge (talk) 02:07, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
- @Yellowdoglodge: You should be able to use the Move functionality to move your draft to the Main (Article) namespace. As for adding coordinates, the {{coord}} template should do the trick! Let me know if you have any other questions :) AviationFreak💬 03:18, 13 November 2025 (UTC)
Question from CasonPlayzYT (01:25, 15 November 2025)
[edit]my article (ARC) was denied can you give me some tips so it won't be denied next time the article in question is in my user talk page --CasonPlayzYT (talk) 01:25, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- @CasonPlayzYT: Hi! The article was declined for a lack of in-depth, reliable, independent sources. Taking a look at your draft, the only references that might be useful to establish notability under the relevant notability guideline would be the two local news articles. Local news is generally reliable, but having these as the only two notability-supporting sources is not going to be sufficient. I'll also note that the KLTV link is a 404 page at the moment, so that leaves only the KETK article. As for the other four sources, two are from the company itself (not independent), the Florida Dept. of State one is only a database entry (not useful for notability establishment), and the Texas Tribune article does not appear to mention MSB at all. I hope I've made it clear what needs to be addressed - let me know if you have any other questions! AviationFreak💬 04:29, 15 November 2025 (UTC)
- Do you have any tips on finding reliable sources /references? CasonPlayzYT (talk) 17:32, 28 November 2025 (UTC)
- There are a number of resources listed at Help:Find sources. Search engines will usually do a solid job of finding available sources, but some (especially print) sources need a bit more looking to find (e.g., newspapers & books). AviationFreak💬 01:07, 29 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from ZeddicusTuTran (22:56, 16 November 2025)
[edit]Hey, I have a question. Why are some articles locked for me to edit? --ZeddicusTuTran (talk) 22:56, 16 November 2025 (UTC)
- @ZeddicusTuTran: Hi! Per this policy, some articles are locked for editing by less-experienced users (i.e., those with fewer edits). In general, contentious articles that are highly-edited and recieve a lot of vandalism are those chosen for protection. This is often a temporary measure. Article protection significantly reduces the load on vandalism patrol - if you'd like to request an edit on a protected article, you can follow the instructions here. Let me know if you have any other questions! AviationFreak💬 16:37, 17 November 2025 (UTC)

- @Moe Htet Aung 84: I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to - There is a guideline here on article length, but I'm not sure that applies to any of your contributions. AviationFreak💬 05:47, 19 November 2025 (UTC)

Question from DigioieML18 (20:26, 1 December 2025)
[edit]Hello! I have been critiquing my bibliography page for the sources I used for Multi-Vortex Tornadoes, can you take a look and let me know if the structure is set up nicely or if the summaries of the scholarly sources makes sense. --DigioieML18 (talk) 20:26, 1 December 2025 (UTC)
- @DigioieML18: Hi! I'm a little bit swamped with work at the moment (end of the semester) so I unfortunately won't have time to look over this. If you're able to find other users who have experience editing in that specific area, you might want to ask them and/or ask over at the Severe Weather Wikiproject. Best of luck!! Question from EmberOfficial on User talk:AviationFreak (23:27, 5 December 2025)
[edit]On the GothamChess page should there be a clarification of Fide rating? On the page already it says his rating but, it could be confused with other ratings for example chess.com or lichess --EmberOfficial (talk) 23:27, 5 December 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe - In a lot of places where ratings appear on the page (including the infobox), they are clarified as being FIDE/USChess/etc. If you think further clarification is warranted, I'd WP:DOIT and add the clarification. AviationFreak💬 20:56, 6 December 2025 (UTC)
