Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions!
You may have used a large language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, in your edits. While using LLMs can be very useful, machine-generated text—much like human-created text—can contain errors or flaws, or be outright useless (see WP:LLM). Specifically, asking an LLM to "write a Wikipedia article" can sometimes cause the output to be outright fabrication, complete with fictitious references. It may be biased, may libel living people, or violate copyrights. Thus, editors should verify all LLM-generated text before using it in an article. Please prioritize manual contributions and thorough research when editing. If you are unsure about your wording, an alternative is to suggest it on the talk page for another volunteer to look at it. If you are creating a new article, you may find it help to use Articles for Creation process, where you can receive feedback on your work.

- Hello, and thank you for your message. I want to clarify that the claim I am using a large language model (AI) to write articles is false. I am a native English speaker, born in Australia, and I have edited Wikipedia before under a different account which I unfortunately lost access to. I am not new to Wikipedia editing. I’ve also noticed on your talk page that other editors have raised similar concerns about being unfairly accused of using AI. I would kindly ask you to avoid making such assumptions about my contributions. My edits are written by me, based on sources I’ve researched, not by an AI model.
- I understand Wikipedia has strict standards, and I am here to contribute constructively while following the guidelines. Please feel free to engage with me directly if you have any specific concerns about the content of my edits, rather than questioning how the text was written.
- Thank you Ashulom (talk) 19:45, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- My note that "you may have used a large language model" is neither an accusation nor an assumption. It is merely advice, and not even a warning. If you are not using AI, then feel free to ignore it. jlwoodwa (talk) 20:04, 19 September 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding. The reason I said you should avoid assumptions is because on Wikipedia, notes like that can easily be read as claims. What would have been more helpful is if you pointed to a specific part of my edit that looked AI-generated, so I could better understand why you thought that. As for advice, I agree it’s useful, but it’s clearer when it’s explained directly. Since you’ve clarified it wasn’t meant as an accusation, I’ll leave it at that.
