Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi Streetdeck. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! ~Swarm~ {sting} 06:30, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AIV report

[edit]

Hi Streetdeck. Thanks for the good work. I've actioned this AIV report for spam, but I wanted to leave a couple pointers: (a) there was no vandalism after the final warning (final warning was left 05:58, 19 May 2020 (UTC), after which there were no edits), and (b) leaving multiple warnings in succession without intervening edits is generally discouraged since it's confusing – if a higher-level warning is warranted go straight to the higher level. (In this case you left a level 3 and level 4 warning without the user having edited in between.) Keep up the hard work and all the best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 06:05, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, thanks. ----Wright Streetdeck 06:06, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@L235: I reverted vandalism by using SWViewer, and that tools can't manage the warn level, sorry about that. ----Wright Streetdeck 06:09, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't used the tool, but please keep in mind that you are responsible for all edits made on your account – if the tool warns by default, try overriding the option. Best, Kevin (aka L235 · t · c) 06:12, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

About your GA nomination of Cyclone Hamish

[edit]

Streetdeck, I initially noticed this nomination because you edited the WP:GAN page directly, which you shouldn't do: the page is rewritten by a bot every 20 minutes or so, and nominations are added and modified at that time, based on the "GA nominee" template on article talk pages. (You didn't get the format and info quite right.)

However, when I looked at the article, I noticed that the lead was unusually short (MOS:LEAD is one of the GA criteria), and then that you had never edited the article in question. As best I can tell, this is your first GA nomination, so you may not be aware of this part of the GA nomination instructions: Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article on the article talk page prior to a nomination. Among other things, the major contributors will know of any issues with the article or places where it falls short of the criteria (which may be why they didn't nominate it before), and it's also courteous to let them know.

Since you did not follow the instructions, I have reverted your nomination. If you still wish to nominate the article, please do the appropriate consultation on the article's talk page first (you should allow at least seven days for responses). However, you will need to be an active participant in the review should you nominate again: You are expected to respond to the reviewer's suggestions to improve the article to GA quality in a timely manner (if you absolutely cannot, make sure another editor can). So please be sure that you can do this—responses are generally expected within seven days.

Thank you for your interest in GAN, and best of luck going forward. BlueMoonset (talk) 14:12, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your notice. --Wright Streetdeck 14:19, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:58, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Category changes to January articles

[edit]

Hi there, following on from changes made by @Andrwsheng0001 to January articles which, thankfully, you reverted, the same changes have now been done by @StarTrekker. Do you have a quick way of reverting them? I started, but am giving up as it's a very tedious task. Thanks, Kiwipete (talk) 20:09, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

What's wrong with the edits?★Trekker (talk) 20:10, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@StarTrekker, as I explained in my edit summary "The formatting of this page is considered static and should not be altered without prior discussion for consensus at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Days of the year". Can you please start a discussion there? Kiwipete (talk) 20:17, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Sure.★Trekker (talk) 20:22, 4 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment and the deletion of my addition to the article are probably some kind of misunderstanding. My addition to the article was absolutely neutral. (20:31, 7 January 2025 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.46.96.89 (talk)

About Editorial and opinion commentary

[edit]

1. The video maker you said is Lian Xiao. If you don't know who he is, you can check directly on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lian_Xiao 2. The pictures in the blog are GO players' comments about this incident from their Weibo. These are the go players: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tang_Weixing https://zh.wikipedia.org/zh-hans/%E6%88%98%E9%B9%B0 https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%8E%8B%E7%A5%A5%E4%BA%91 https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%9D%A8%E6%A5%B7%E6%96%87 and so on. Hence I think they are good source of a good enough Editorial and opinion commentary, unless you think the picture is not good enough. In that case, I could change it directly to the link of their weibo. ROCedric (talk) 20:10, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@ROCedric: For the content, it should be 'professional go player Lian Xiao believes ****', not sentences violate WP:NPOV like 'with Byun's sportsmanship and character widely questioned.'.
For the blog references, please change to weibo.

I also edited something on zhwiki, feel free to take a look. Aqurs1 (talk) 20:39, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the source to Nie Weiping's Weibo, and add the source of Go players'opinion about controversial decisions based on unclear. Thanks ROCedric (talk) 20:59, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Request to restore Prasath Kumar article to Draft space for improvement

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that the article Prasath Kumar was deleted as out of project scope. I am the subject of the page, and I would like to kindly request clarification. I have acted in five films, all of which were released in theatres and are now publicly available through platforms such as YouTube and other media outlets. I would be grateful if the page could be restored to my Draft space so that I may work on improving it with more reliable, independent references to better establish notability. Thank you very much for your time and guidance. ActorPrasath (talk) 05:08, 24 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

  • After a motion, arbitration enforcement page protections no longer need to be logged in the AELOG. A bot now automatically posts protections at WP:AELOG/P. To facilitate this bot, protection summaries must include a link to the relevant CT page (e.g. [[WP:CT/BLP]]), and you will receive talk page reminders if you forget to specify the contentious topic but otherwise indicate it is an AE action.
