Chikkallur

Chikkallur is a religious centre situated in Kollegal taluk of Chamarajanagara district. It is a well-known pilgrim centre. It is associated with a tribal sage Siddappaji. He is believed to have entered his grave alive. His grave attracts thousands of pilgrims from all over southern Karnataka. Other sages linked to Siddappaji are Mantelingayya of Bappagoudanapura, Rachappaji of Kappadi, Channajamma and Doddam thayi.

Annual fair attract thousands of devotees. It is conducted around Shivarathri a festival of Shiva . A mandala puja is conducted on full moon day . Mandala Puja means , on a stage a bamboo tower shall be built above Shreechakra and after puja bamboo tower will be set on fire. Thousands witness the spectacle.
