Hello. Could you please help me with this draft? I am confused because people who do not speak or read Russian tried to check sources that are 100% in Russian and contain hundreds of pages. Why is there a problem with translating articles from other languages that are checked and used on the Internet? AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 12:21, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @AlexVasilevInfo. I declined your draft initially because there were no sources. You now have sources, but unfortunately I cannot read Russian so can't easily evaluate them... qcne (talk) 12:51, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
After some consulting I get an idea that last submission wasn't apply because I need to use links on biography. Should I use additional links after "the first two paragraphs and last two sentences"? Do I need to point on particular page? AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 14:27, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @AlexVasilevInfo. A Wikipedia article only summarises what a reliable published source states. That means that every statement in your draft must come directly from a source, and in order to verify the information, you should use an in-line citation that points to the exact page of your source where the information is summarised from. qcne (talk) 17:54, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have Ancharov_biografia_2ed_2022.pdf book where 633 pages, 9 chapters. The information was summarized in the Ukrainian Wikipedia. This means that the birthday is listed on one page of the book, the father's name on another, the branch of the armed forces on a third, etc. Can I use a link to the Ukrainian Wikipedia? Or can I use the book as a single source with dozens of pages listed separated by commas. Or separately each fact?

You can indeed use a single source multiple times. See Help:Footnotes#Footnotes: using a source more than once. qcne (talk) 20:39, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

After the third attempt to submit this draft, I found the following problems. You are trying to check something you don't know. Wikipedia is a pretty unfriendly platform where you need to know the markup language and some magic rules. That's not how my community works. That's why I didn't understand you a month ago when you wrote "Still largely unexplored", which is equivalent to "The sky is still blue". I was lucky and got a hint a month later: "Cite the page after each sentence, even if it's not a quote, and see what's obvious". However, I am checking "sources" in another English-language article. This is disaster. I believe I will never use Wikipedia as evidence in any work. Only for entertainment reading. And I will gladly wait for non-Russian speakers to start checking sources in a 600-page biography. AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 16:31, 14 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am sorry. Can you open the links under the article? Can you use Google translator if you don't know the language? Can you check other Wiki articles about the person and translate them if you don't want to buy and read the biography? Can you see that he is mention in English version of Wiki as writer with other links? Books, TV series, novels, songs, article about him - what is the problem with sources? "Reliable sources are required so that information can be verified." "I don't have any respect to no-english culture." AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:13, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
Content has been added but still no sources for the first two paragraphs and last two sentences of the biography section
- first two links: biography and pdf from Russian encyclopedia
- Анчаров, Михаил Леонидович — Википедия I didn't check his IDs and I am not his relative. I see the same information everywhere. Just google translation of public data. AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:27, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
Ancharov_biografia_2ed_2022.pdf AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:40, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
but I am not sure that we can use this pdf version of his biography. Technically lib.ru is open Russian library. I provided link on paper book. AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:46, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
So what else do you want from me?
Again, excuse my English, but proving the existence of this man is like proving the existence of Astrid Lingered. AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:51, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
last two sentences of the biography section
what sentences? I will find then in Ancharov_biografia_2ed_2022.pdf AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:54, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
Singer-songwriter - Wikipedia he is here too as songwriter AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 23:57, 12 September 2025 (UTC) AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 12:12, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Adding link 1 and 2 after "first two paragraphs and last two sentences" will solve the problem ? AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 14:30, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done. AlexVasilevInfo (talk) 21:30, 13 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
