Hi, regarding your message on my Talk page and the article on Nick Allott. I'm assuming this is about the edit by an IP editor, presumably you, on 28th June. There are two problems with that edit. Firstly, all information in Wikipedia articles, particularly that relating to biographies of living people, needs to be referenced to a reliable source. The information in that edit wasn't referenced; re the marriage specifically, that sentence is and was referenced to a Tatler page which says He has two sons from his marriage to Anneka Rice and two sons with journalist partner Christa D'Souza
. The other problem is that you indicated in your edit summary that you are Allott. In that case you should not edit the article directly. You can request changes on the article's Talk page. I put the information about this on the IP's Talk page, but you may not have seen it. I'll add it here too. Tacyarg (talk) 17:15, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit] Hello, 2A0D:3344:3AC7:4A10:3517:4EC0:3946:6504. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Nick Allott, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the Edit Request Wizard), including links or details of reliable sources that support your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Tacyarg (talk) 17:16, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
