Creating user name

Hi there, I see you’ve commented on several talk page discussions regarding tropical cyclones. Have you considered making a user name? It makes it easier to engage in discussions when there is a set user established, rather than editing anonymously. The problem is that you want to be involved in talk page discussions. If you are editing using your IP address, then your identity on this website could be different every time you log in if you use different computers, which is a form of sockpuppetry. Yea I'm all about that. There's nothing worse than when an article is wrong. The whole point of a wiki is to build on other people's work. For example, did you know that the Hurricane Katrina article has been around since the storm was active, and it has been edited by over 6,000 different people? And the article still isn't done! I have much respect for that type of editor. That's all the more reason it's good to be familiar with how the tropical cyclone project operates. Over time you’ll become more familiar with whatever user name you pick. But because you seem to want to influence policy (such as with cyclone Judy/Kevin) then you should really have a user name for ease of communication. People who edit anonymously can continue do so by switching from computer to another computer, which isn’t good for figuring out consensus among users. Plus, making a user name is a sign that you’re going to stick around. Again, if you’re trying to change things, it’s good to do so in a collaborative process, and making a user name is one of the best ways to do that. You’re being disruptive in your edits by choosing not to use your words. Continued disruptive editing can lead to a loss of editing privileges. I’m just trying to figure out why you’re editing the way you are. I see you are changing IP addresses. This is why it is good to have a user name, so your account will follow you wherever you log in.
