Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that your recent edit to Gangs in Australia did not have an edit summary. Collaboration among editors is fundamental to Wikipedia, and every edit should be explained by a clear edit summary, or by discussion on the talk page. Please use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit and/or to describe what it changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances that your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits, an adequate summary may be quite brief.

The edit summary field looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

or in the visual editor:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Describe what you changed

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. When logged in to your Wikipedia account, you can give yourself a reminder by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary (or the default undo summary), and then click the "Save" button. When adding a POV template, please try to clearly explain what the neutrality issue is, to allow editors to identify and fix the problems. Drive-by tagging is strongly discouraged. @Code Zero thanks for the feedback, but I was in the process of fixing it. See second edit. 2405:6E00:62F:8B62:5E8:AAB9:216F:C0D7 (talk) 11:01, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! That's okay, I understand - but please bear in mind that when you don't add even a brief edit summary at the time you publish, some busy recent changes patrollers might not assume good faith and revert the change believing it to be a drive-by tag. Providing an edit summary helps prevent that kind of error. To avoid accidentally leaving edit summaries blank, it might be worthwhile creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account, which allows you to select "Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" on the Editing tab of your user preferences. I'm supposed to be busy with a work / study thing this week, but maybe after that. I'll try to remember to leave edit notes if I get distracted on here before then. I don't tend to bother if it's just "citation needed", it's usually obvious why that's needed? But I see why the bigger or more controversial tags need some explanation. 2405:6E00:62F:8B62:5E8:AAB9:216F:C0D7 (talk) 11:48, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
A response to the Cronulla race riots seems a bit weird to describe as organised crime. It seems more like intercomnunal violence. If it involved extortion or was done by groups that also engage in typical organised crime it probably belongs there, but it needs some more sources or details and more context. 2405:6E00:62F:8B62:5E8:AAB9:216F:C0D7 (talk) 11:10, 20 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
