IP blocked
[edit]Hello, I have blocked the IP that was posting nonsense here. If you run into similar problems again, we can semiprotect your talk page. Let me know. —Kusma (talk) 10:38, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- This and two other IPs (same person) are considered to be an LTA.
- Yes @Kusma, please semi protect both my talk page and my user page. No vandalism has been made on my enwiki user page, but it has happened on other language versions. The IPs targets me in particular, but from time to time also to other nowiki sysops, Znuddel and Anne-Sophie Ofrim, on various wiki projects. 1000mm (talk) 11:17, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- Can you semi protect my user page as well @Kusma? Znuddel (talk) 11:55, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- User and talk pages semiprotected for a year (both 1000mm and @Znuddel). Let me know if you think some of the protection is no longer needed or if you need an extension. —Kusma (talk) 12:36, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much!1000mm (talk) 12:59, 18 October 2024 (UTC)

[edit]On English wikipedia the infobox only contains the active club-membership for figure skaters, but the history of it can be included in text-info in the article. Retired figure skaters will lose their club-affiliation stated in their infobox. See this thread Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Figure Skating#Club affiliations history for figure skaters. Wasn’t aware of that.
- The article on no-wiki had to be protected because of repeated vandalism by removing this info, and the temp user/IP has also removed the same on Wikidata a couple of times. Reverting to your revision as of 00:25, 20 February 2025. 1000mm (talk) 20:14, 27 February 2025 (UTC)
NTNUI Sailing moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to NTNUI Sailing. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. --Regards, KB~Abhiimanyu7 talk 06:31, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi. I was asked by another contributor who yet didn’t have the right to publish an article. He had made a draft as a user page. I copied just the first couple of lines, to allow him to finish it, but apparently he didn’t do more to it last night. Somehow, I didn’t think of moving the user page…
- Nevertheless, after you moved it to Draft:NTNUI Sailing, someone else moved the user page to NTNUI Sailing, which leaves the draft redundant. I will tag the draft for speedy deletion.1000mm (talk) 09:29, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
G10 CSD tag
[edit]The IPs user talk page has an edit history with posts from other editors and is not a candidate for speedy deletion. Your edit summary assumes that I didn't review the history of the page before declining the CSD, which is not true. It's just childish vandalism, but if you find it distressing I can rev delete that single post from the page.-- Ponyobons mots 21:52, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- It’s not just childish vandalism. This is a long term IP vandal, from new IP addresses all the time. He targets me and a couple of other no-Wiki sysops. This has been going on for about a year now. It’s me he hates the most, but also no-Wiki sysop @Znuddel and no-Wiki sysop @Anne-Sophie Ofrim has been targeted, as well as some users here at en-Wiki who has reverted and warned him. I know @Lynch44 has received same type of trash talk. I’m sure they can confirm.
- He edits mostly here at en-Wiki, never at no-Wiki where we can ban the IP, but he has also made same type of editing at nn-Wiki, sv-Wiki, da-Wiki and simple-Wiki.
- The page may not meet CSD G10 «a page that serves no purpose but to disparage or threaten its subject or some other entity» per se, due to the old warnings, but then at least this revision as quoted above should be hidden.
- A couple of other talk pages by the same kid, these are just from this month:
- Make sure you check ALL revisions, including the deleted/hidden ones, as well as the block logs for these IPs. Some have received very, very long blocks, even global blocks.
- There’s a long history here, which is hard to keep track of unless you’re one of the persons receiving the trash talk and being tagged/pinged, due to the constantly changing IP adresses. I made a request at Wikipedia talk:Long-term abuse months ago to have him listed as an LTA, but due to the harassment being as cross wiki as it was at time, it was sugessted that the listing was made on Meta instead. So far i have only saved the conversation – including multiple IPs and dates – from back then as a user page. «CheeseSupport» was his user name before he started using just IP addresses, that’s why it’s named as it is. m:User:1000mm/Reports/CheeseSupport.
- If all this, and possible confirmations from other users doesn’t convince you to hide the revision mentioned above (or delete the page), I don’t know what’s needed. 1000mm (talk) 22:22, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- PS! My talk page is semi protected, just because of this guy. 1000mm (talk) 22:24, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- What I meant by "childish vandalism" is that the taunting is childish. As a long-time admin and Checkuser I understand what it's like to be harassed and attacked; I'm not doubting your claims (your post sort of makes it sound like I do). I'll rev-delete the latest IP post, as I offered to do, per WP:DENY. -- Ponyobons mots 22:31, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
Thank you!
- It wasn’t meant like that, that you doubted it. I see that it can be read as such though, which wasn’t my intention. Here at en-Wiki there are a lot more sysops, roll backers etc. than at no-Wiki. Your WP:AIV and WP:ANB have numerous reports, every single day. For us @ no, it’s not too hard to keep track of most of the things going on, the perks of being a small language. My long post was to explain it for someone who most likely wasn’t aware at all. 1000mm (talk) 22:49, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
- Today’s harassment: User talk:89.8.165.96, marked DB-G10 by @Lynch44. This user page doesn’t contain anything but the harassment, with reverting in between. 1000mm (talk) 00:49, 23 August 2025 (UTC)
- @Ponyo can you hide the latest revisions on User talk:139.164.154.74 ? It’s the same kid as User talk:46.15.206.179. 1000mm (talk) 13:33, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
Done. I've also blocked the IP with talk page access revoked.-- Ponyobons mots 20:54, 4 September 2025 (UTC)
- @Ponyo A new day, a new IP: User talk:89.8.162.104 1000mm (talk) 14:57, 8 September 2025 (UTC)
- Blocked as well. If they pop up and I'm not around you can also report them at WP:AIV.-- Ponyobons mots 20:16, 8 September 2025 (UTC)

- I can confirm what 1000mm writes – this is a long-term IP vandal who has targeted both me and the others mentioned for about a year, always from new addresses. A persistent pattern across projects. Znuddel (talk) 22:53, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
Image processing
[edit]Hi 1000mm, Referring to your comment on Tuva Halse's page; image processing is not necessary "manipulation". Every image-shooting device has flaws, from smartphones to telescopes. Smartphone cameras go to the near-infrared and in difficult illumination conditions and red lights, like in many concerts, the side effects may be strong. Green is usually rather ok and blue a little changed. The processing used in the replaced photograph was designed to get rid of the near-infrared side effects in these difficult light conditions, making possible to retrieve the white for instance. I was in Kongsberg too, and the original photograph does certainly not reflect the light conditions that were prevailing in the Kongsberg concert room, which were much closer to what is seen on the corrected photograph. Image correction is a major thing in photography for... many decades because shooting does not guarantee fidelity! Now... if I convinced you, you may restore the corrected photo; otherwise I will not insist :) Cheers Cavansyte (talk) 21:18, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- Processing, altering, manipulation – potEIto, potAto.
- Come to an agreement with the other photographer about which images should be used, instead of debating semantics. 1000mm (talk) 21:20, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- I just expressed the view of someone working professionally with imagery, no need of obscurantism here :) Cavansyte (talk) 21:40, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
- So does the photographer of the image you altered. Different artistic and subjective views on what looks better. 1000mm (talk) 21:51, 6 September 2025 (UTC)
