[edit] Hello, I'm Donald Albury. I noticed that you recently removed content from Peebles Corporation without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Disambiguation link notification for November 21
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Stephan Roche, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Catalan. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 07:54, 21 November 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I noticed that you recently removed a lot of content from Tensilica without explaining why. Please do not do this without proper reasoning. Blanking UntrustWasTaken (talk) 15:45, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
- I did explain. I removed in the context of resolving the promotional content tag because the content violates WP:NOT. 🄻🄰 03:09, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- Hardly. I don't see how listing what a company makes is promotional content. UntrustWasTaken (talk) 08:42, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
- Did you read WP:NOT? Either way, the material didn't have good sourcing even if it were appropriate content. 🄻🄰 01:45, 18 December 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Heather Templeton Dill
[edit]
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Heather Templeton Dill requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Drmies (talk) 16:09, 18 December 2024 (UTC)
- I thought that being president of a major foundation would make her "important or significant" but I created the article as practice. I don't mind if it's deleted. 🄻🄰 02:30, 20 December 2024 (UTC)

[edit]I assume that your deletion efforts are done in good faith. But I cannot accept that you delete most of an article on a company that influenced the whole Microchip industry, deeming it non-notable. Imho the warnings especially on the citations are good enough to motivate other Wikipedians to improve the article. Since you mention to be based in California, I would appreciate that you mention some background in your User Page, preferably in English, so I can better understand your qualifications in the field that you address. VMzB (talk) 11:02, 28 December 2024 (UTC)
- I ran across the article while resolving issues with promotional articles from Category:Articles with a promotional tone from December 2024, so my intention was to remove excessive unsourced content to resolve that issue. If you are more experienced in the topic, I don't see an issue with the information being re-added with citation. 🄻🄰 17:05, 30 December 2024 (UTC)

Draftification
[edit]Hello, लॉस एंजिल्स लेखक,
If you are going to draftify articles from main space to Draft space, then please review WP:DRAFTIFY CAREFULLY so you are properly following Wikipedia guidelines. For example, you can not draftify an article that is older than 90 days or that has been draftified before. And you should always notify the article creator that you moved the article to Draft space. There are scripts, like User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft or User:Mr. Stradivarius/gadgets/Draftify, that make this notification process easier.
If you have questions, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:13, 5 January 2025 (UTC)

- Was there a recent move that you thought was incorrect? So far I am only finding articles from the current month promotional category and another admin informed me of the rule not to move to drafts more than once. 🄻🄰 19:03, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- You thought Che Nom is not notable, well Kauchani Bratt page that i create now is less known by people in US. So why dont you go and move it into the draft then? Protocetus1 (talk) 23:24, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- I don't know who you are, I'm not looking at your new articles, and I don't know these people. I'm editing articles that are marked promotional by other editors. Unless your article ends up in Category:Articles with a promotional tone from January 2025 because someone else marked your editing, I'm not going to see it. 🄻🄰 01:19, 6 January 2025 (UTC)

[edit]Hi I notice you keep deleting large quantities of information from Responsible Travel with no explanation. I'm guessing it's to address the promotional content tag, however factual information about a company backed by independent high-quality sources is not promotional content. This page was originally posted in line with Wiki guidelines and was externally edited by Wiki users on publication. However, your efforts have prompted me to review the page to double check citations and language - so thank you for bringing it to my attention. Traveler2468 (talk) 12:40, 3 April 2025 (UTC)
- I removed them because it is promotional to include a catalog like that. 🄻🄰 13:29, 9 April 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. --Hipal (talk) 19:03, 11 June 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Hipal: I have replied to you on the talk pages of both articles where you re-added the tags. In both cases, I believe I was following WP:WTRMT which states that editors can remove POV-related tags when there is no discussion or stale discussion. For Gillian Griffiths, I think WP:DRIVEBY is applicable for the resume tag since I do not see how the article is overly promotional and it is not explained (the only obviously promotional thing is the Royal Society nomination statement which is properly attributed). For Jeffrey Sachs, I am open to feedback if you feel 3+ months is insufficient to consider a discussion "dormant" although I think in internet years it is long enough.
- For context, I found both articles in Category:Articles with a promotional tone from January 2025 which I am working my way through. 🄻🄰 17:29, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the explanation. In both cases, I believe the tags are helpful to direct editors to resolve existing problems. --Hipal (talk) 18:01, 12 June 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for the cleanup you're doing. --Hipal (talk) 15:59, 13 June 2025 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop. If you continue to remove maintenance templates without resolving the problem that the template refers to, you may be blocked from editing. --Hipal (talk) 16:39, 14 July 2025 (UTC)
And it appears you are targeting tags added by @Melcous:. --Hipal (talk) 02:28, 15 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hi @Hipal: we discussed this above and at Talk:Jeffrey Sachs#Tag removal with you and @Cambial Yellowing. I'm still going through Category:Articles with a promotional tone from January 2025 and addressing the tags or removing them if I do not see an immediate issue and there is no active discussion. This is supported by WP:WTRMT and WP:DRIVEBY but I can open a discussion on the talk pages where you have re-added the tags so we can resolve the issues you see.
- Regarding @Melcous, I found two tags added by them that I removed out of the 200+ promotional tags from January I have resolved. I am not "targeting" anyone so I am a bit confused why you would come to that conclusion. 🄻🄰 12:32, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- You wrote, "I do not see an immediate issue". What does that mean and how does it relate to the actual instructions of WTRMT? --Hipal (talk) 17:27, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- Melcous has edited a very large number of articles, so it may just be a coincidence. My apologies. However, of the first 10 of the 30 articles where you both have edited:
- Three are concerning to me: [1][2][3]
- While the other seven look like coincidence: [4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
- A fourth:[11] --Hipal (talk) 17:25, 17 July 2025 (UTC)
- Not sure whether to be flattered or not that you went through all of my edits in so much detail... The "coincidence" probably has to do with the fact that I'm working my way through Category:Articles with a promotional tone from January 2025 and he placed many of those tags. That's what I am targeting, not anyone.
- In all cases, removing the tag is appropriate under WP:WTRMT #7 which states anyone can remove POV-related tags when there is no rationale provided or the discussion is stale: "neutrality-related templates such as
{{COI}}
(associated with the conflict of interest guideline) or{{POV}}
(associated with the neutral point of view policy) strongly recommend that the tagging editor initiate a discussion (generally on the article's talk page) to support the placement of the tag. If the tagging editor failed to do so, or the discussion is dormant, and there is no other support for the template, it can be removed." - That's what I mean by "no immediate issue." As you've seemingly already reviewed my edit history, you will see that in most cases I remove the promotional content I see but if it is not obvious to me and there is no discussion present, I remove the tag.
- As an example, for CKRK-FM which you flagged as "concerning" above and re-added the promotional tag, you can see I removed a lot of promotional details which were unsourced while adding "citation needed" tags for information which isn't blatantly promotional but was unsourced while changing the tag from promotional to unsourced. The issues on the article are missing sources not information being overly promotional if it were cited.
- Anyway, if you have an issue with something I have edited, I would prefer a discussion instead of a template warning. 🄻🄰 12:27, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
- I've not gone through all your edits, but I plan on continuing to review them because of the many problems I've found so far.
- Again, apologies about the concerns of targeted editing. FYI: There are tools to identify user interactions. When I saw Melcous' name a couple of times, I used a tool which came back with 30 articles.
- You've been removing {{Promotional}} tags, which do not fall under WP:WTRMT #7.
- You've pinged me on multiple (9?) article talk pages. Apologies if I don't get to them all right away.
- I'm concerned that you might be using an AI or auto-translator to help write your comments. The repetition, misuse of terms, and the misunderstandings all remind me of situations where there has been some such intermediary being used. --Hipal (talk) 23:41, 18 July 2025 (UTC)
