With the Single Unified Login WP:SUL I was renamed to Y2kbug, which was occupied by someone else before. As this other user didn't contribute to the English wikipedia (0 edits), I got the name for the unified login.
I recreated the old account, Y2kbugDE, because there were some previous edits I made that still point here. In order to prevent someone else of using my old name (which would make my edits point to this new user) I followed the recommendation of WP:CHU/SUL.
- Be aware: Once you have been renamed, your old account will no longer exist and may potentially be recreated by a third party. This is true even if your old account pages have been redirected towards your new account. To guard against impersonation, you may wish to recreate the old account yourself.
