Slick 2H Rick (born Ricky Walters) is an American rapper, producer, and record label owner from Brooklyn, New York. He is best known for his storytelling style of hip hop, rooted in the classic sounds of old school rap, and for founding the independent label 2H Records LLC. With a career spanning over four decades, he has collaborated with artists across genres and continues to contribute to the evolving landscape of hip hop.
Early Life and Career
Ricky Walters began performing publicly in 1983 in Brooklyn, New York, where he was a founding member of the hip hop group The Twomatic MC's. During the early stages of his career, he opened for several pioneering acts in hip hop, including Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force, Jeckyll & Hyde, Roxanne Shanté, and Public Enemy, among others. His early performances helped establish him within New York’s foundational hip hop scene.
Music Career
Slick 2H Rick’s first self-produced track, What Up, marked the beginning of his solo journey. He has since released eight singles (the 2H Album) available on all major streaming platforms:

In addition to his music career, Slick 2H Rick is the founder and CEO of 2H Records LLC, an independent label focused on artist development and music production. Through the label, he produces his own music and supports other up-and-coming artists in the hip hop and R&B scenes.
