Tulsi Gabbard

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced a reorientation of U.S. intelligence collection efforts toward border security and counternarcotics operations, describing it as “the biggest shift in collection priorities in ODNI history.”[1]

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard delivered the final keynote. She discussed the indispensable role of GEOINT in preventing and deterring conflict, positioning it as a tool for both strategic defense and diplomatic engagement. And she stressed the importance of maintaining a technological edge and the need for continuous innovation in the face of emerging global threats. [2]

American History

[edit]

The first serious American study of Hinduism appeared in the last year of the eighteenth century. Joseph Priestley, the British Unitarian minister and emigre celebrated today as the discoverer of the chemical element oxygen, settled in Pennsylvania in the 1790s and turned his attention to comparative religion. In 1799 he published A Comparison of the Institutions of Moses with those of the Hindoos and other Ancient Nations. [5][6]

2025 pahalgam attack

[edit]

Operation Sindoor targets 9 locations: Links to LeT and JeM, how they’ve attacked India in the past Operation Sindoor May 7 update: Here's what to know about Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba's anti-India activities, and their hubs targeted today in Operation Sindoor.

India’s Operation Sindoor on Wednesday (May 7) targetted terrorist camps across nine locations in Pakistan and PoK — in Bahawalpur and Muridke in Pakistan’s Punjab, and Muzaffarabad and Kotli in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

These terrorist camps are linked with the Jaish-e-Mohamed or the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

As The Indian Express has reported, Bahawalpur, which faces the Rajasthan frontier across the Thar desert, has been a stronghold of the Jaish-e-Mohammed, led by Maulana Masood Azhar. The Jamia Masjid Subhan Allah, which was among the sites targetted, is believed to be a hub of the JeM. Muridke near Lahore is the home of the Hafiz Saeed-led terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. It houses the Markaz-e-Taiba, the base camp of the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

These two terror outfits have a long history of attacks against India. Here’s what to know about Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s anti-India activities, and their hubs targeted today.

Reincarnation

33 percent of Americans (including 29 percent of Christians) who believe in reincarnation.

--- [28]

‘New Age’ beliefs common among both religious and nonreligious Americans

Most American adults self-identify as Christians. But many Christians also hold what are sometimes characterized as “New Age” beliefs – including belief in reincarnation, astrology, psychics and the presence of spiritual energy in physical objects like mountains or trees. Many Americans who are religiously unaffiliated also have these beliefs.

Overall, roughly six-in-ten American adults accept at least one of these New Age beliefs. Specifically, four-in-ten believe in psychics and that spiritual energy can be found in physical objects, while somewhat smaller shares express belief in reincarnation (33%) and astrology (29%).

Commentary: "We Are All Hindus Now" By: Lisa Miller August 15, 2009 Author: Lisa Miller

Source: NEWSWEEK

America is not a Christian nation. We are, it is true, a nation founded by Christians, and according to a 2008 survey, 76 percent of us continue to identify as Christian (still, that's the lowest percentage in American history). Of course, we are not a Hindu—or Muslim, or Jewish, or Wiccan—nation, either. A million-plus Hindus live in the United States, a fraction of the billion who live on Earth. But recent poll data show that conceptually, at least, we are slowly becoming more like Hindus and less like traditional Christians in the ways we think about God, our selves, each other, and eternity.

In 2009, Lisa Miller, a noted author [29] and [30] noted that the Rig Veda, the most ancient Hindu scripture, says this: "Truth is One, but the sages speak of it by many names." A Hindu believes there are many paths to God. [31]. Further, she noted that the poll data on religious beliefs showed that conceptually Americans are slowly becoming more like Hindus and less like traditional Christians in the ways we think about God, our selves, each other, and eternity.[32]

Study on anti-Hindu bias suppressed by US media giants: Indian-American group[34]

Ford spiritual journey ISKON

ALFRED FORD, the great grandson of automobile legend Henry Ford, straddles spirituality and corporate world with aplomb. But he is more comfortable chanting mantra in his Krishna temple at US mansion ( two hours daily)

He was in Ujjain to preside over the  opening of the Krishna temple of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) on Friday.

A vegetarian, teetotaller and a staunch devotee of Krishna, Ford, aka Ambarish Das in the ISKCON community, has an Indian wife from West Bengal. So how he got smitten by Indian spirituality?

“I had all the material comforts that one could think of but still, I found something amiss, an emptiness. Lord Krishna filled the void in my life.”

He recalls how while studying religion in college in USA in 1974 he came in contact with devotees of Lord Krishna. “I started reading books and chanced upon translated version of Swami Prabhupada. The book changed entire meaning of life for me,”

Having accepted Prabhupadji as Guru, I came to India first time in 1975 and experienced the vast spiritual trove India is bestowed with.

[35]

Alfred Brush Ford, who is the chairman of the $100M project and donated over $30 million for it, took up the Hindu name, Ambarish Das, after being initiated by Swami Prabhupada on their first meeting in Dallas, Texas in 1974. He accompanied Swami Prabhupada on his first trip to India from the US in 1975, which led the course of his life towards the ocean of devotion and spirituality.
