Hi! I'm OcelotHod.

I am a scholar of science fiction, fantasy and horror. I've published academic articles and interviews with notable novelists in peer-reviewed journals in these fields, and have presented several papers on humor in genre fiction at academic conferences.

I've written commissioned essay-reviews on genre novels, movies, popular science books, and a variety of other topics for encyclopedias — from Jewish comedy in William Goldman's The Princess Bride to life onboard factory ships (which fortunately I did not have to personally endure; the research was grueling enough); from the lives of trees to the discovery of Tiktaalik. I'm also well-read in horror film, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, stand-up comedy and parodies, Saturday Night Live, Gothic fiction, ethology, and etymology. I've edited anthologies of fiction and of literary criticism.

I hold Master's degrees in English literature and in Library and Information Science. While my varied fascinations bring me to read articles all over Wikipedia, I'm sure that the chief of my contributions, so far, are in the area of fixing punctuation and grammar.

Onward and upward!
