Preah Barum Reach Chaktomuk Serei Mongkol Football Club (Khmer: ក្លឹបបាល់ទាត់ព្រះបារមីរាជចតុមុខសិរីមង្គល) is a football club based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The club was established in 2021, originally under the name Hul Phum Ruessei FC. It was founded as an Amateur Club with youth sections in Phum Ruessei and currently participates in training, friendly matches, rather than official competitions.

The name of the club is derived from Phnom Penh, the capital city, and the ceremonial title of the Royal Palace, symbolizing both the city and the nation.

History

[edit]

Preah Barum Reach Chaktomuk Serei Mongkol Football Club traces its beginnings to Phum Ruessei Primary School in Phnom Penh, where a small group of youth players first organized friendly matches. These early activities marked the foundation of the club, which was initially known as Hul Phum Ruessei FC. The team operated informally, focusing on training sessions and youth participation rather than competitive tournaments.

As the club developed, it experienced several relocations connected to changes in its membership and leadership. Following its initial period at Phum Ruessei, the club moved to Khan Dangkao, reflecting the relocation of its founder and owner. During this stage, the team continued to emphasize practice and friendly fixtures, maintaining its amateur status and community-based identity.

Later, the club returned to Phum Ta Lei, situated near Toul Ampil High School, where it began using the Ta Lei Pitch as its home ground for training and matches. This move provided a more stable base for the team’s activities and allowed it to continue organizing friendly encounters with other local sides.

Throughout its history, the club has undergone several changes in its visual identity. The logo has been redesigned on five occasions, reflecting adjustments in style and symbolism as the team evolved. The most recent change accompanied the adoption of the current name, Preah Barum Reach Chaktomuk Serei Mongkol FC, which draws inspiration from Phnom Penh, the capital city, and the ceremonial title of the Royal Palace. The name was chosen to symbolize both the city and the nation, aligning the club’s identity with cultural and historical references.

At present, the club remains a social and amateur football team, participating in training sessions and friendly matches. It has not entered official competitions or qualifying rounds within the Cambodian league system, but continues to operate as a community-based organization with a focus on youth involvement and recreational football.
