👋 About Me

[edit]

Hello! I’m a passionate geospatial enthusiast, educator, and researcher from Nepal. I specialize in remote sensing, GIS, and spatial data science, with a strong interest in applying these technologies to agriculture, disaster risk reduction, urban development, and climate resilience.

I currently contribute to Map Mentors, a Nepal-based spatial education and research lab that promotes open geospatial learning through workshops, mentorship, and collaborative projects.

📚 Academic & Professional Background

[edit]

- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture with a strong foundation in spatial analysis. - Experience in precision agriculture using drones and satellite-based monitoring (NDVI, EVI, NDWI). - Trainer and mentor in GIS and remote sensing for undergraduate students and professionals. - Past coordinator for digital crop insurance projects integrating field data, remote sensing, and farmer training.

🛰️ Interests

[edit]

- Remote sensing for agriculture and environmental monitoring - GeoAI and machine learning for spatial predictions - Open-source GIS tools like QGIS, Google Earth Engine, and PostGIS - Agricultural data analysis using R and Python - Story mapping and cartography (especially for the #30DayMapChallenge)

🌍 Projects & Initiatives

[edit]

- Lead trainer at Map Mentors for geospatial literacy in rural Nepal - Collaborated on climate-smart insurance projects (GRAPE, NSAF, CIMMYT) - Supported over 2000+ farmers with digital tools for crop monitoring and risk management - Mentored undergraduate research on precision agriculture and soil mapping

🛠️ Tools & Platforms

[edit]

- QGIS, ArcGIS Pro - Google Earth Engine - Python (pandas, geopandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn) - R (tidyverse, ggplot2, agricolae) - PostGIS / PostgreSQL - UAV/drone imagery and multispectral analysis
