Māori is a living language.
Yes, it has taken elements from other languages, including English.
This does not mean those elements are "wrong".
Yes, "wh" used to be pronounced more similarly to how it's spelled. There are even instances where it is still pronounced that way. But modern Māori pronounces it with an f sound. Please respect that.
Overall, please stop treating Māori language, culture, and people as if they somehow are static and not part of the modern world, or an artefact of ancient times. It's a racist thing to do, and it doesn't help anyone. Stop assuming that every instance of European influence in Māori culture is "wrong" or "inauthentic" or "fake".
