About Me

I am known to be blunt with my words, and call a spade a spade, instead of dancing around the issue. Tho I do make efforts nowadays to try to be nicer. I first edited back when I was still in uni after I noticed inaccuracies in certain articles. But I never really stuck long enough. I think that's normal.

My Editing Style

I don't think I could become one of those editors that do heaps of edits a day. I never really understood them or their motivations. They do edit a lot but the majority of edits seems like shallow content tweaks and format changes, or what I like to refer to as high volume superficial edits daily. It's primarily formatting, grammar, minor wording tweaks etc but there's a sheer lack of in-depth edits.

I am sure that's of course still invaluable but just don't think that's ever going to be my thing. I prefer instead doing deeper content improvements that require understanding and research, and often more effort and commitment.

What I Focus On

When I edit, I minimally need to have an interest and at least some understanding of the topic first, and then try to improve it as best as I can, such as on articles like Immigration to Japan, Posterior cruciate ligament injury, Sprained ankle, 2025 New York City mayoral election, Cycling, etc. Overall that is always going to be slow as there's only so much deeper quality stuff one can produce at a pace, so is unlikely my edits would ever reach the tens of thousands stats annually. More likely averaging a k per year at most but I genuinely enjoy editing. Even if my edits aren't relatively extensive, I like knowing they meaningfully improve content, help fellow readers understand topics more and allows me to keep learning too. This is what makes editing worthwhile for me.

Media Contributions

I also contribute both photos and videos to Wikicommons. I also shared a few pics for Wikipedia articles like Excavator.

Long-Term Outlook

Overall, I am happy to keep contributing in my own way, focusing on quality over quantity. I hope to be here for a while and when I look back, believe that my time on Wikipedia has helped me learn meaningfully and has provided quality edits that benefit readers.
