My Academic Projects
[edit]My primary goal is to enhance the quality and accessibility of information on Wikimedia projects. My current contributions are part of a semester-long academic project, but I intend to continue editing in the future.
Wikipedia Contributions
[edit]I'm focusing on two key articles that align with my sociology major. For each topic, I aim to add well-referenced content and improve clarity for all readers.
- **Topic 1: Immigration Policy of the United States**
* **Objective:** To translate the article into Korean and expand its content with a focus on historical and contemporary policy shifts. I am adding new sections on post-9/11 policies, DACA, and the evolving debate on border security, all supported by scholarly articles. * **Progress:** I have successfully translated the introduction, the key legislative acts of the 20th century, and am in the process of expanding the "Recent history" section to include more recent developments and court rulings. My work is focused on ensuring that every translated paragraph is backed by a verifiable source to maintain neutrality and accuracy.
- **Topic 2: Immigration to South Korea**
* **Objective:** To expand the English article by adding a more detailed analysis of South Korea's evolving immigration landscape. My contributions cover topics such as the E-9 visa system for migrant workers, recent refugee policies, and the social integration of multicultural families. I am referencing official government statistics and academic publications from both domestic and international journals. * **Progress:** I have completed a new section on labor immigration policies and am currently working on a sub-section dedicated to demographic trends and public perception of immigration in South Korea.
Wikivoyage Contributions
