My one pet peeve: don't leave a hatnote. Please, just make the article better. (Also send me a message to let me know, I'm generally in a good mood about making articles better, but deleting entire paragraphs written within the last 24 hours without prior communication doesn't qualify.)
My philosophy: More is usually better than less. If I delete one word on an article, it needs at least ten more to replace it. The best articles are between 8 and 10 thousand million billion words.
