User:Crestfalling

Hi! I'm Crestfalling, and it's nice to meet you.

If you're here because you want to talk, then refer to the below.

  • If I did something very silly, just revert it and let me know so I can make a better edit. I'll always fix my own mistakes.
  • If you feel my edits worsened an article, then explain why. I edit in good faith, and I assume others do too. There's no reason why my opinion is more valid than any other, and I'm open to changing my mind.
  • If you want to ask me about an article I've substantively worked on (i.e. in my "Articles improved" section), feel free to ask anything. I would be very happy if I can save other people's time by sharing my notes and general conclusions (such as what parts of the article need the most work, which parts are already exhaustively researched, etc.) No request is too small.

As of November 2025, I am fairly active here and should see any messages quickly.

About

[edit]

I'm a newbie to editing, but I've been reading Wikipedia for over 10 years and have read tens of thousands of articles in that time. From this, I have reasonable familiarity with tone, NPOV, and proper sourcing, but I'm still getting used to formatting and adding new information. I appreciate any feedback, and thank you if you've helped improve one of my edits.

Editing priorities

[edit]

In order, I focus on:

  1. Reliable, accountable sourcing.
  2. Writing readable prose.
  3. Creating an organized structure.
  4. Filling in info fundamental to understanding the topic.
  5. Adding info that would interest a casual reader.
  6. Adding info that would be useful as a reference.
