About me

[edit]

I am an instructional designer working in higher education within the United States, currently I work at a public university in Michigan. I am particularly interested in teaching undergraduate students to build digital literacies around digital information environments. My research interests include open education, online communities, blended and hybrid learning, MOOCs, and other aspects of educational technology. I also remotely teach technology and digital citizenship courses part-time for a university in Minnesota and a college in Rhode Island. Sometimes when I teach I integrate Wikipedia editing into my teaching as a way of teaching students digital literacies while participating in digital culture.

[edit]

I am paid as a faculty member by the schools who hire me. There is nothing in my job duties as assigned that requires me to edit Wikipedia or to teach my students to edit Wikipedia. I don't have any grants to do editing work on Wikipedia.

Newspapers on Wikipedia Project
