Allenchue is QIU Yin from China. Being a student, he has obtained a B.S. degree in Software Engineering at Nanjing University, and is now pursuing his master degree in the same college. He has wide research interests, mostly including concrete applications of software engineering, information retrieval, and distributed computing.

Editorial issues

Yin has been active on the English version of Wikipedia since an early time, but he did not actually contribute to it until recently. His first contribution was creating the new Minkowski distance entry. There were two main reasons that prevented him from contributing:

The long and yet active Internet censorship in China made it inconvenient for him to access Wikipedia. And even he managed to access it by using a public proxy, the IP address of the proxy server was often blocked from editing because of abuse behaviors.
He found there were few things he could share with others.

As his knowledge accumulates, he is certainly ready to make more moves towards knowledge sharing on Wikipedia. He also said he would like to make some contributions to the Chinese version of Wikipedia, which demands much more effort than this English version.
