Tyger is an all-male collegiate secret senior society at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States. The society selects a small number of students each year through Dartmouth's tapping process for senior societies. Tyger was founded in 1892.
History
[edit]Tyger, sometimes spelled Tiger, was established in 1892 as a senior society at Dartmouth College and ceased operations in 1894.[1] However, there is a present-day society by the same name that the college recognizes.[2]
Membership
[edit]Membership consists of a small number of students who are selected during their junior year in a school‑wide selection process known as "tapping".[2] Every winter and spring, juniors are tapped for the senior societies through a process coordinated with the college.[2]
